ELSA, YOU PROMISED you would take me sledding today!" Anna sat on the edge of her bed kicking her feet against the mattress, her short braids bobbed with her motion.

Elsa stood at the window peering outside like she was lost in thought.

"Elsa?" She swung both of her feet in unison and landed on the floor with a hard thud. Her sister's face was grim, appearing as if something was bugging her.

Anna's relationship with her sister had changed since the accident five years ago, and she wished she could remember what happened. Mama and Papa had told her she hit her head falling down a flight of stairs, but she didn't remember any of it. She found herself having a hard time believing them mainly because Elsa would never confirm their story. Almost like she couldn't bear to lie about it. She gazed down, seeing the tip of her braid against her shoulder. A few strands of white were visible amongst the red. Falling down the stairs wouldn't have given her a white streak of hair, and she couldn't recall seeing the streak in her baby paintings.

She brushed the thought aside. Things happen, and she didn't care to worry about it right now. Elsa had promised to play with her, and she wasn't. She giggled as she rushed to her sister's side.

Elsa pulled her hands back from the banister just as Anna reached it.

Anna tipped her head as water dripped down the wall. Weird, but nothing that she was concerned about. "Why won't you talk to me, Elsa? We've barely talked in months. Not since I regained my memory."

Elsa kept her back towards Anna, her shoulders sagging. Anna furrowed her brow. Maybe Elsa hadn't heard her. Anna reached up to grab her sister's shoulder.

In a split second, Elsa spun around in a blur. Her eyes glowed a bright crimson red as she gripped Anna by the wrist, her clammy hands were cold. Colder than anything she had felt before. Perhaps, even colder than ice. Anna screamed as she struggled to break free.

Ice began to creep up Anna's arm as her hand froze like a statue. "One day, I'll finish the job!" Elsa spat through gritted teeth. She shoved Anna away hard, and Anna collapsed to the ground.

"Elsa!" Anna jolted upward, sweat beading her forehead dampening her clothes and sheets. She frantically glanced around her bedroom. Elsa was still sound asleep in her bed across from hers.

Anna pulled her knees to her chest, allowing her rapid heart to settle. It was all just a dream. A horrible one. Elsa would never turn on her like that. Right? She couldn't! They were sisters. They would die for each other. But... twelve year old Elsa said that one day she would finish the job. What could that have meant? What could all of it have meant? She sighed and shook her head. It was just a dream, Anna. Calm down.

She laid her head against her pillow as she stared up at the canopy that hung over her bed. She had dreamed of ice, but... why ice? That water on the wall and Elsa's hands. Elsa had caused the ice. She knew her sister always had cold hands, and her body felt a little cooler than normal. Could that have been the reasoning behind the dream? It didn't make any sense. Magic? Elsa having magic? Magic didn't exist in this world.

A soft knock sounded against their bedroom door. She turned her head in that direction, but felt too tired and exhausted to answer.

"Your highnesses?" came the voice of one of their maid servants. "Breakfast will be served shortly. Best you make it in time to see your parents off."

Anna gasped and threw back the covers. She had completely forgotten her parents were leaving on their voyage today. She bit her lower lip as she glanced towards Elsa's sleeping frame. She had been formulating a plan since she left Elsa asleep in her bed a couple hours after helping her sister to sleep. Now, she hoped they could both pull off a way to sneak onto the boat.
