I emerged from the ruins of the cracked stone slate the chatter of the women dying down as their gazes turned to me.

That's all the warning they got before I lashed out, the not Melinda going first as I removed her head with a slash of my hand. A clean cut for an instant kill.

The four remaining women took a collective step back in shock as the blood splattered in every direction. Their shrill screams music to my ears.

Their blood stained faces all turned to me at the same time in realization.

'Yes, fear me. Let dread consume you after what you've done.'

Melinda tried to run but I caught her swiftly, pinning them all against the stone pillars.

"You'll pay for what you did to me." I said walking towards the black haired one, I'd save covent leader for last.

I reached out as she slide down the pillar into my reach. Her potion burned as she and her sister witch forced it down my throat. I decided to give her a taste of her own medicine. I ripped her windpipe out, her blood coating my skin.

Pay back.

I turned to the blonde who had degraded me, her terrified gaze sending joy through me. I wouldn't make her death as quick.

I let her fall hard to the ground, she stumbled back trying to get away but the pillar caged her in. "No please-"

I constricted her air flow making her choke on her words. " Don't beg, you didn't give me any mercy." She helped covent leader, handing me the goblet that sealed my faith.

She cried out as I reduced the bones in her hands to splinters, pulling the fragments out through her skin passing her eyes and into her brain. She slumped over unrecognizable.

I turned to Melinda letting her too fall to the ground. The terror in her gaze was satisfying. I walked towards her slowly, I was really going to enjoy killing her.

She held up her arms and began begging. " Please! I didn't want to do this! I had to go along with them or I'd end up their next sacrifice!"

Her voiced cracked and trembled as tears streamed down her face. I beckoned her to me, her feet scraping the earth as she violently jerked through the air into my hold.

All her thoughts came undone to me, the years she and her covent spent sucking the magic out of unfortunate young witches. The way she did nothing to aid them or discourage their death. Indulging in the magic that came at the cost of their lives.

Through her memories I learnt these women weren't as young as they appeared. Some of them had been lengthening theirs lives and youth through this practice for a very long time. Greta, their leader, being centuries old.

Exiting the recess of her mind the nameless dead witches now identified, I felt no remorse at their deaths.

They all had watched me grow into a woman plotting to take my life away.

" You sat by and watched them kill dozens of innocent girls all the while reaping the reward of their death. You're no better than them, you turned a blind eye for your own gain." I released her temple and let my hands drop to her eyes.

" These eyes saw the injustice and yet you did nothing." I said prying her tear stained eyes wide open. " I'll let you see no more"

I pushed down letting my finger pop the orbs beneath them, not stopping until her screaming ceased and her body became limp. She fell to the floor her she head a mangled mess.

I slowly turned my gaze to Greta. She was no longer a covent leader, after all she had no witches to lead. Her gaze held terror and resentment as I walked towards her trapped dangling body.

I would make her death painful and slow.

She glared at me, fire in her eyes. " I should have let you die that day I met you." Her eyes focused on the blade still plunged in my heart. " You're no witch, you're evil incarnate."

I laughed at the irony, the woman who had mercilessly killed so many was hypocritical in the face of her own long overdue death.

" You should have killed me then. There was nothing stopping you." I said pulling the knife from my chest, the wound closing instantly.

She didn't beg like the others, I didn't expect her to. " You're an abomination, something made in the underworld. Unclean and unnatural. You'll bring nothing to this world but suffering!" Her words were frantic touching on hysteria.

I didn't have time for her madness.

I put my hand to her clothed chest and pushed, slowly building pressure in the cavity . " I should thank you for awakening my true self." I heard bone crack as I slowly advanced inwards.

Blood bubbled from her lips like a fountain, her legs gave out underneath her. " I wouldn't have done it without you."

I ended her, creating a hole through her chest retrieving her heart in my hands. I watched as she fell to the floor, her skull hitting the stone with a bounce before it split open.

Looking down at still conscious eyes I held the organ out and crushed it, the satisfaction of watching her take her last breath full filling me.

I looked to the sky my laughter returning. Those awful women were dead, they only experienced a fraction of my suffering but my revenge was sweet none the less.

Under the cover of night I felt invincible, like the world would crumble under the force of my will. The feeling of unlimited power coursing through me, there was nothing to stop me from making my will be done.

"Azula?!"

My head snapped in his direction. Nathan, he had come.

His frantic state obvious as he walked through the dead bodies of the covent members. His focus only on me. He embraced me blood drenched and all.

Instantly all the negative emotions faded and I embraced him, tears spilling over coating his naked shoulders. He held me as I became undone in his arms.

He released me looking around at what I'm sure was an horrific sight. The bloody mangled bodies strung about the clearing, my bloodstained dress, the thickly caked grime on my skin.

I saw confusion and shock simmer behind his eyes as he returned his gaze to me.

' His gaze holds no fear.'

I lunged at him needing his comfort, he gave it willingly taking deep breaths in my blood soaked hair.
