"When was your last period?" The doctor asked jotting down my answers on a piece of paper.
My brows frowned, I knew what that was somehow. "I've never had one." I said deciding that wasn't normal. All the witches I killed had theirs despite old age. Was it attributed to my demonic paternity?
"Any history of reproductive or hormonal issues on either side of your family?" He asked another question.
My brows frowned further. My linage was unknown to me.
I had just met my father recently and my mother was still an unknown. I hadn't thought to ask about reproductive health while in the beginning of a killing spree. But The doctor didn't need to know that.
"Not to my knowledge."
He nodded again. " How long has it been since you started being sexually active with your mate."
I blushed. " Very recently."
He nodded looking over his paperwork before turning to us.
" Under the assumption that you are not pregnant right now and being informed that you are a witch. Having dealth with human and werewolf patients alike I am not satisfied that either method of contraception that we available here is suitable for you." He said glancing between the two of us.
"From a professional standpoint the options for werewolf females works by inhibiting fertilization during heat and the human equivalent is centered around the ovulation cycle. Neither of which would be accurate to your situation." He added quickly.
I nodded into Nathan's shoulder. So he couldn't help us.
"However, while in school I was thought briefly that witches have spells for such purposes. I would advise you to seek that as your preferred method."
"So you're telling us the use magic instead of medicine." Nathan said glaring at him.
The doctor this time shifted uncomfortably under Nathan's gaze, "Yes, it's what would work best." He said with and awkward laugh.
A spell flashed before my eyes.
"Okay thank you doctor." I said pulling Nathan to his feet.
"You're welcome future Luna." He said watching us leave.
"Azula." I corrected as we disappeared through the door.
I knew the spell I needed to preform, I would need to go back to the house to do it. I pulled Nathan on the short journey back to our bedroom, the thought of the ritual taking over my mind. I pulled him to the kitchen reaching for a knife releasing Nathan.
"Hey wait-" he was too late as I sliced through my fingertip blood flowing through the open wound.
I bunches up my dress drawing the symbol that appeared in my mind on my midsection, chanting the remembered words. In my trance like state I almost didn't notice Nathan reaching out for my injured hand. The symbol painted in blood turned black before fading into my skin.
I exhaled leaning against the sink.
" Give me some warning next time you're going to do something like that." Nathan said engulfing me.
I nodded leaning into him.
"What did you do." He asked after awhile .
I turned to him running my hand over his almost non existent stubble. "A spell from Greta's memories I think. It stops pregnancy by suspending the womb in it's current state."
His warm hands laid over my mid section rubbing light circles with his thumb.
"Your scent didn't change. I'm glad." He said taking a deep breath in my hair.
