Day six and I twirl to give Nathan a show of my new look. My new green dress complimenting my over all appearance.
"What did you do to your hair?" Nathan asked as his eyes followed me .
"Juana did it, don't you like it?" I bit me lip nervously awaiting his reply. If he didn't like it I'd go back to how I was before. He relaxes against the tower behind him looking up at me.
"You're beautiful. You're always perfect" he says his eyes still on me.
I smile not knowing why I'd even doubted my new look.
..........
Day eight and his lips have gone chapped, his overall appearance worst than I'd ever seen. I kneel holding his face looking him over.
"You don't look so good." I say feeling his forehead trying to check his temperature. He felt hotter than his usual warm temperature, almost as if he had a fever.
"It's ok, I'm just thirsty." He says leaning into my touch. His father's words echo in my head, 'no food, no water'.
Nathan was of no use to me if he was dead. I reached out two fingers bawling the rest closed.
"Put them in your mouth." I say as he looked at them skeptically. He gives me a funny look before taking them in his mouth.
The look fades a he swallowed the water pouring down his throat. He drank for awhile before releasing them with a pop. He wipes away the stray droplets looking around quickly.
I couldn't sense anyone nearby, he wouldn't be caught.
"I thought you were going in a different direction with that." He held my waist securing me onto him.
"Someone would notice if we did that." I mumbled liking the slight stubble that had overtaken his jawline.
"We could give them a show." He bites my ear the sharp sting of teeth going straight to my center.
I get off him escaping his grip.I refused to give the nosey wolves a show.
"I'm having dinner at Alexander's." I said patting non existent dirt from my dress. He nods looking up at me.
.............
Juana and Alexander had made dinner, some roast with potatoes and carrots. Mostly meat but the smell in their kitchen was amazing.
Sarah and Aiden came through the door, Sarah wearing a much tighter pair of glasses. At least she wouldn't have to stop them from running down her nose. I take a step back as they enter the already busy kitchen.
"Get off her bro." Alexander scrunches his face in disgust wrinkling his nose at the pair. Angry red marks decorated her neck, barely hidden under her chestnut hair.
"Leave them alone." Juana chastised greeting Sarah. She gives her the same warm hug she always greeted me with.
I fight down the jealousy that bubbled within me.
I turn to sit in the living room bumping into Sarah in a split second.Out of pure surprise I reach out trying to steady myself.
Her body tensed up, her head titled back to the ceiling her mouth agape. She must have been having a vision, one like she'd had when she touched Alexander.
Aiden held her as I watched from the distance I'd put between us. After what felt like a long time her trance faded and her eyes returned to me.
She'd touched me before having her onset of foresight . What had she seen?
