"So you're mated to a half witch, half demon." Alexander said surprise still fresh in his features, I had told him everything.
"Yup." Nathan nodded over my shoulder. He had told me to sit in his lap after we entered Alexander's home. Alexander's house was clean and well organized, that surprised me.
"It's just like you to get someone so overpowered as a mate. The moon goddess made you her favorite." Nathan chuckled in reply , the vibrations of his laughter traveling all through my body. His grip tight around me, his mouth on the back my neck.
Alexander drew my mind away from my wondering thoughts.
"So you've got all these new powers that you're trying to get use to." Alexander concluded.
I nodded looking down at my hands, there was much I needed to tame.
"It's like all the power and knowledge is in my head but it's all a jumbled hazed mess at the moment. I want to change that." I said looking at the indentations in my palm.
Nathan took hold of my hand. "together." He affirmed his eyes gleaming. I nodded in reply.
'Nathan would be with me'
"together."
"Together." Alexander mocked drawing my attention to him.
Nathan through a couch pillow, Alexander expertly evaded the projectile.
"I'm not familiar with magic but we'll make due. When do we start witchcraft 101?"
Nathan exhaled into my neck the warm air tickling my skin. "My father stopped by and made it clear I resume my duties on Tuesday, so we have one more free day together." He mumbled into my neck.
When had his father stopped by? It must have been when I was sleeping.
"Okay. So the day after tomorrow." Alexander affirmed.
He got up slapping Nathaniel's shoulders. "Alright now get out both of you, I'm the only one who gets to leave a mating scent in this house."
Nathan chuckled lifting me off his lap, "Tell Juana I said Hi." He said leading me out the house.
"I will. She's dying to meet you Azula." He said the last part directed to me.
My curiosity got the better of me as the home disappeared from view.
"Where's Alexander's mate?" I asked stepping out into the clearing. He's mentioned this person far to much for them not to be his mate.
He glanced at me pulling me close. "She's in collage, she's set to graduate next semester."
I nodded. Collage that was a form of higher education.
"You'll meet her in a few weeks, she'll be back for summer vacation by then."
I'm sure she would be an ally, she was Alexander's mate after all.
We walked into the evening light the day approaching sunset. The cool air felt crisp as I took breaths, my lungs left rejuvenated. Nathan's arm intertwined with mine as we walked back to the house.
Wolves glanced at us as we passed by, their eyes never lingering long enough to stare. I suspected Nathan's stubble flash of teeth was warning enough to keep their curiosity at bay.
Strolling to the house my eyes caught a couple, the woman heavily pregnant. My eyes fell to her stomach as her mate fawned over her. The many memories of the dead women made me realize something. The woman's eyes caught mine, a beaming smile overtaking her features. I quickly turned away.
I wasn't ready to be a mother, I just wasn't.
"We didn't use any protection." I mumbled as we entered the house.
He smirked looking back down at me. " I know."
I intertwined my fingers anxiety bubbled inside me. His smirk faded.
" I'm not ready for a child, I have a lot to figure out right now." I corrected myself. " We both have things we want to accomplish." I said encircling myself.
Nathan came over freeing me from my self embrace. " If you don't want children right now that's your choice to make. You're the one who has to grow the thing for nine months." He held my shoulders steadying my wondering eyes.
"We can go to the clinic in the morning and find out options to delay kids for now." He said caressing my check.
I nodded resting my hand on his. I looked up at him reaching to fiddle with my necklace, my hand falling to my chest at the jewel's absent.
"What do you want?" I asked staring into his dark eyes, I wanted to know what he wanted. Hie eyes lit up before speaking.
" I want to be close to you and love you, that's all that matters. A child is a big responsibility." He said pushing the strands of my hair away. " I want to have sex with you, whenever you're ready I'll put a child in you." He said leaving a kiss to my neck as if he didn't just say such a brazen outlandish thing.
He slowly started bunching my dress at my waist. "right now I want to be inside you." He mumbled a shiver running up my spine.
I slapped him pushing him away, I glanced down at my flat stomach.
I didn't know the love of a parent, I never really viewed my self as the maternal type. I could see Nathaniel as a father, holding a swaddled mess of limbs. I let the hand that hovered over my belly fall. I would contemplate the idea of a child later, much later.
I looked over at a pouting Nathan. His features softened and cute I could resist pinching his cheek. I enjoyed watching color rush to the surface.
He lifted me onto the nearby counter a squeal of surprise escaping my lips. He buried his face into my chest looking up at me with a desperate expression.
He rolled his hips into my exposed thigh. I could feel the manifestation of his desire.
"I need you, don't deny me." He said his words slightly muffled in my breast.
I took a moment before tangling my hand in his hair. He looked cute when he begged. I locked my feet, ankle to ankle, around his waist.
"Okay." I said pulling his lips to mine.
