Chapter 49: Office (Evie's POV)
The rest of our days in St. Petersburg flew by too fast for my liking and tonight we were on our way back home, back to work, back to our typical routine.
Currently, we were still in the jet, still more than an hour away from landing. I stole a glance at Rowan who was typing away on his laptop and catching up on the work he had missed when he decided that exploring St. Petersburg and showing me around would be a better idea.
Actually, I should be fair, I convinced him to do that. I guess I can be very persuasive when it comes to my husband.
I straightened my chair out and picked up the blanket that was over me and tossed it onto the chair opposite to mine before standing up and stretching.
He glanced up at me, his eyes going straight to where my top rode up. He closed his laptop and put it on the chair in front of his. "Where do you think you're going?" he asked, tilting his head back to meet my gaze.
"To take a little walk. My ass hurts, I've been sitting for too long."
"Oh, that's why it hurts, huh?" He lifted a brow.
I laughed in disbelief and shook my head. "You're unbelievable."
He grabbed my hand and pulled me down into his lap, lifting my legs over his so I was sitting sideways with my arm around his shoulders. His eyes remained locked with mine as he lifted a hand to tuck my hair behind my ear and then give my ponytail a little tug. "Do we have to go to work tomorrow?" he asked me.
I nodded slowly and he sighed loudly, closing his eyes. "We've missed five days. Five days that you were supposed to spend working in St. Petersburg and instead, you showed me around the city."
"And who's fault is that?"
I chuckled, "Well, at least that's not all we did."
He opened his eyes and I gave him a small shrug. "Don't act cheeky," he shook his head, "you're trouble."
"I'm trouble? Don't act so noble and modest, it really isn't you."
"I can be humble," he mumbled, his eyes falling shut again.
"Really? When?" I mused.
He hummed in response, "When I get down on my knees with my head between your legs."
I clamped my hand over his mouth, my eyes growing wide.
He laughed and looked at me, biting my finger. "There's nobody here," he reminded me.
"You have flight attendants."
"Who are off-duty now that we've eaten."
"They're still on the flight," I argued.
