ACT 35 | CLOSER THAN EVER

"Even if I go easy on them, no one can beat me at this point.. Be it you or anyone.."

"Characteristics like that are something that are heridity or inherited in some cases.. For all I know infrared visions or heat signature aren't something my Charizard can do.. Forget mine.. Other than Arbok and Seviper I doubt any pokemon can. If you are speaking truth then, I wonder how is yours able to do that..." Red looked at the two charizards in the battlefield where the battle between Ash and Calem would take place a week from now answering the question he asked..

"I used to joke around by saying my Charizard was built different but I guess he really is.." Ash commented.. Vision locked on the two Charizard who engaged in firepower battle of Flamethrowers which came easily into Ash's favour.. After training for whole 7 months and endless pain he and charizard suffered, he kind of deserved it...

"Kanto legue had seen it in past too.. Some pokemon are just built different.. If asking me, there is just a single person I battled in past who came to this level of power... Your charizard is the strongest in term of raw power if you would ask me..." Red said hoping the two pokemon won't release any powerful move that would cost them to buy all the window panes..

"Maybe... Oh by the way I couldn't learn a thing from yellow Senpai.. How unfortunate.."

"She is like that.. She knows a lot but can't explain a thing..."

Red stood up from his seat looking at Ash who twirled the physics question paper between his fingers.. Just 2 more days before the armageddon with Calem.. The majestic arena was prepared too for the showdown.. Alas, he had his doubts, he wanted to keep it between him and Calem and requested a one on one and asked to keep the students away.. The first one was rejected but the second one was accepted for security of the students...

"You think you can beat Calem.." Red asked Ash who stood up shoving the question paper in his pocket thinking about who to invite as his team partner.. He did asked Paul but he refused on his face so he was in a pinch for now.. Red couldn't battle too..

'Could I beat Calem..' His gaze lingered onto Charizard's mega stone.. The scene from yesterday's training where he almost burnt down the forest to ashes if it wasn't for Cynthia played like a warning... He had grown confident over time and he knew it.. He could..

"I can.."

"How confident are you? That you can beat Calem.. The same calem who defeated you in past.."

"Remember one thing Senpai, even if I go easy on them.. No one can beat me at this point.. Be it Calem, Paul, you or anyone..." 

A satisfied smirk made its way over his mouth.."You sound confident.. Good luck with your exams and Calem Ash.. It seems someone is here to give you company.. I will go and find Yellow and see if I can understand it..." Red looked at the girl who sat next to Ash.. Ash recalled Charizard back looking at Astrid who waved the physics paper in front of him..
