The cool wind that entered the room from the shades of the window of his room hitted him with some innocent realization he was beginning to have.. He was a light sleeper.. He had to be because of those responsibilies he couldn't run away from.. Defeating Leon and becoming the number one of the world came with a lot of responsibilities..
He couldn't sleep with those responsibilities.. There wasn't anything too significant about this night aside from the sound that woke him up.. In his instinct, he grabbed the gun next to him looking at the bedroom camera before another realization hitted him..
The surprise he received was something he didn't knew how to react to everytime he looked at them as he opened the door. He was thankful to any entity who gave him this chance.. Those hands of his have killed, maimed and spilled blood too many times for him to ever fully wash the stain away.. But maybe those hands of his can also guide, comfort, protect and love..
Never did he thought he could do it..
Faint muffled cries.. Thats what he finally heard.. His heart pounded in the vicinity of his ribcage.. He had killed, tortured, and had done things that could make skin crawl but as he looked at his two daughters.. He feels and found his little weakness and strength in them..
"Ayumi.. Can I come?" He stood at the door.. Even in the ambient darkness, there was no difficulty in noticing her wobbling lips, trembling firsts and tears-ridden cheeks.. He'd blinked, taking in her pleading and scared expression and walked toward the bed..
"Da..dyy.." Her hiccups clad words made its way to his ears as he leaned down in front of her bed.. The piplup plushie in her hand being completely damp from her tears was flung to other side of the bed the moment she saw him open his arms..
She jumped onto his embrace as she clenched the fabric of his shirt sobbing down while he tried to sooth her.. Ayumi was strong.. Stronger than he was a lot of times.. But as a child she had her limits.. What happened with them and what they witnessed a month ago definitely traumatized her..
His arms curled around her tiny body placing his hand on the back of her head as she held him tightly just like that day. Ash killed that man and he knew Ayumi saw him do it.. He had no choice.. It was to save them..
And the school shooter deserved it..
"Was it the same nightmare?" He asked her. Even if he knew.. Ayumi never talked about it ever to him.. She never blamed him either.. Her father saved her, he saved the whole school that day even if he broke all rules in existence.. In his eyes it was better than waiting for police to let those bastards kill innocent childrens..
"It is scary.." His gaze landed on the calender.. 1 exact month from that day.. "Hina could have..." He pulled her back and placed his hands over her lips.. Nothing would happen to them.. He swore it he won't let anyone hurt them.. To be honest he knew nothing of how to be a father.. Becoming a father when you're barely 19 wasn't something he ever expected but he tried his best..
"No one will hurt you or Hina Ayumi.. I promise.. You're safe.." He grabbed the hem of his shirt and pulled it up his stomach wiping her tears and runny nose sneaking a glance at his other princess unaware of anything in the room..
"But.. I.."
"It wasn't your fault.." He softly cut her in.. He knew Ayumi blamed herself for the scar Hina received on her arms but Hina didn't cared about it.. Their mother offered to train them before any other student recieve their pokemon but they didn't wanted the unfair advantage..
