"Why can't it be just you and me?"

There was subtle change in the evening atmosphere which sucked out air out of their lungs.. There was a bubbling excitement in everyone's heart looking at the two pokemon stand in front of each other on opposite sides of the field assessing each other not making any sort of movement.. Steven's blue eyes noted Ash's closed eyes as if motioning to take the lead...
"Then don't say I didn't warned you first." Steven's dominant hand rose toward the field assessing it one final time sure of one thing.. This aerial battle was going to be nasty.. "Iron head.." A unpleasant sound of metals scraping filled the entire stadium when the wings of the skarmory shot open.. With his wings snarled open and screech leaving the pokemon's mouth, the pokemon charged to the opposite side of the field toward Ash whose eyes softly opened.. Placing his hands over his ears cupping them.. He allowed himself to be carried away by the rhythm of this battle..
"The ringing to my ears.. Agility to dodge.."
Ash tilted his head at the order and then shook his head one last time toward the dragonair.. Channelizing the energy in its body, it body begun glowing in a sharp shade of red indicating the speed levels to have rose.. The opposing pokemon reached halfway across the field when, with a head jerking movement, she skated along the ground right at the Skarmory who made its head even sturdier to hit the pokemon only to miss it by a second...
Dragonair appeared again for a moment behind the skarmory to repeatedly vanish and immediately reappears in different spots not giving a moment for the skarmory to get a chance to hit it losing power of the iron head while Steven observed the battle.. A childlike giggle escaped Drgaonair's throat when Steven made the executive decision.. The hoeen champion observed the afterimages and ended at a conclusion..
She was a kid...
"Rotate on your axis and wait for my order..." Ash's eyes narrowed at the command wondering what the champion was scheming.. The skarmory adjusted its body upward spinning like a charizard about to execute a seismic toss feeling the speed go higher and higher every next moment when the command left Steven's lips.. And god be damned, they weren't that good...
"Rock slide.." White energy sparkled over thw wings of the skarmory as Ash's eyes widened.. A light-blue aura glowed and covered all of its body and then a mark appeared on its underbelly forming hundreds of orbs of energy which begun growing in size... Turning those orbs into gray stones with a light-blue outline. The stones then shot in every single of the direction in the field...
That way it won't matter where the opponent was...
"Safe-" Ash's command was cut shot by a scream which left Drgaonair's mouth from the series of assault of the stones not giving her even a moment to protect herself.. A stone shot toward Ash who tilted his head missing it hearing the loud boom behind him...
"With that much speed, even a mere pebble become capable of bringing down the strongest of the pokemons.. You need to do better Ash.. Autotomize and peck.." The assault of stone stopped and what emerged wasn't too good of a scene.. Covered in bruises laid his dragonair huffing in tiredness just after the battle started.. He tilted his head looking at the massive hole bore into the wall from the impact of the stone and then made his decision..
"Been a while since I was outmatched this badly... Twister and dragon tail.." Steven assessed the twister was a mere distraction looking at Skarmory disappear and reappear in the sky charging at the dragonair with his peak growing in size.. The energy hardened into a big shell over the mouth of the Skarmory about to reach the dragon pokemon when a cold northern wind blowed...
