Astrid could feel in her gut something was wrong as the Mustang navigated through the streets of Jubilife among the brewing storm... Ash wasn't picking up her device... "Do it before I get to your home and kick your sorry ass Gary..." She warned the guy who tumbled over his room and landed in front of his computer in middle of night after stubbing his toes more than 4 times...
"Fucker can't even let me die in peace.." He opened find my iphone and signed in using guest account into his device using his account and password which was connected to two device... One being a iphone 12 and other being a 13... He tried to recall which one was of Ash's and clicked on the second one activating remote location on it...
"Uh... It is in west wing of Jubilife.. Something wrong? What is he doing there in middle of night?" Gary asked her who slammed onto the brakes veering the wheel to her left making the car drift due to low grip in rain stopping right in the middle of the intersection... West wing? Ash's home was near hers and he wasn't there...
"I will explain it later Gary.. Bye.." She changed the gears turning the car away and found him half an hour later... It was an empty park, it is supposed to be empty it was middle of night morons... The rain was finally stopped.. She closed her umbrella walking behind him finding him sitting on the ground staring into a dark abyss... His face was in other direction to where she was making it unable to read his expression...
"Good grief... You kinda gave me a scare for sometime... Do you know what happened when I got home... Ava was there.. Dunno how but the man signed the adoption paper... We then spent the whole day running to court and stuff and I kinda forgot about it..." Unaware of the position Ash was in she told him about her day leaning against his back looking at the clouds and little moonlight seeping out of them...
"Oh.." She couldn't help but notice the hollow sound he made... Alas, her bubbling excitement didn't allowed her to look past it... Her day was like that... She reached her home rather quick all thanks to his car and ran into her parents right as she reached her home getting their car out...
"And then guess who I found sitting on the front seat... It was Ava.. They said they somehow managed to make the man agree to them.. I wonder how..." She recounted the tale of her day.. The legal process was very elongated but they did it.. In the end they won...
She was a part of their family now... They went for a little thrift shopping spree right after getting Ava a lot of things while the money they used to buy the clothes went to orphanages and Astrid found out something about Ava.. She was a reserved girl.. A perfectly reserved girl knowing her limits...
She couldn't bring herself to call Astrid's parent her own parent but she called Astrid her sister so they counted it as a victory... And the best part about today... They planned a little vacation in order to bond with Ava to Staleport city... And even best part...
