Finally he had me how he wanted me exhausted and in pain from struggling to break free. My face stung from the slaps I received trying to fight him off while my eyes stung from the non-ending tears, the flew out the corner of my eyes and onto the office desk he had me pinned on. The glittery thigh slit all black dress boob tube dress torn up to my waist had lost it's glamour. I could not wait to get it and him off of me. I shut my eyes tightly to get my mind away from here. Maybe it would be over soon but it felt like forever till he finally grunted in satisfaction.
" Damn I see what she sees in you."
He said smiling triumphantly as he stood up straight and fixing himself up, as if he had just used the toilet.
" Get yourself fixed up and return to the party, there's an ice pack for your lip in that freezer."
He threw me a cloth before walking out and closing the door behind him. With difficulty I dragged myself out of the room with my handbag then headed in a direction that I had seen an exit door earlier when I got here. Luckily there was no one around and the workers I had noticed go in and out of it earlier where nowhere in sight. I thanked myself for deciding to drive myself here and drove myself to safety.
" I'm sorry_"
" Oh my god Niki what_ what happened to you?"
In the moment it was hard to keep it in and all I could do was burst into tears again as she pulled me into a hug. While driving I had managed to stop myself from crying to avoid getting into an accident. I already felt weak and knew blurred vision would not help the situation.

I managed to get out between hiccups as she helped me down onto her couch. Brie has tried to contact me ever since we met at the restaurant but I only gave her one word answers. She sent me her address a few weeks back to use when I was ready to meet her but I ignored it till today. She was the only person I could think of who would not tell Simi.
" Who raped you? Did you go to the police or hospital?"
" No I can't. I can't. He's too powerful and I'm afraid Simi will find out if I go to the authorities. Please can I just take a shower and try to get the swelling on my face down. I'll be out of your hair-"
" Hey you can stay as long as you want but I really think you should see a doctor what if he has some kind of s.t.i?."
It had not crossed my mind.
" I don't know Brie."
" Niki this is your life we're talking about."
" I'll think about it, can I please shower."
She showed me to her bedroom then left me to fetch ice. I decided to send Simi a text, notifying that I would spending the night at a friend's since I was too drunk to drive. I did not want to call her in fear she will hear that something is wrong but instead of replying in a text she called me back.
" Hello?"
" Hey baby, where are you I can come get you?"
" No. It's a bit far from town and it's too late for you to drive that distance. I'll see you tomorrow morning."
I said that knowing she had practice early and will not see her till late. She tried to get me to let her come but I came up with excuses and she finally gave up. I was relieved even though I would rather be her comforting me than being here.
" Hey it's going to be okay."
" I just lied to my fiancé, it's not going to be okay."
