" Hey Jay!"

While making a pit stop at the local grocery store on my way home I bumped into Becca and her sister Scarlet. They actually stood in front of me blocking my way out but I swerved and walked around them. These two were trouble and I did not want any of it.  As soon as I stepped out I saw Toni leaning on my car, I knew those two were trouble and they were trouble brought by her. I just knew she was with them and to avoid any altercation I. Said nothing to her but she could not leave it at that.

" Funny bumping into you here when I just had lunch with Kelly."

" How is that funny?"

" I don't know, it just is. How much was her engagement ring by the way I want to get her a much more expensive one."

I just got into an altercation with a close friend and I did not want to get into another one with this idiot so I bit my tongue and got into my car. She smiled at me when she drove off and I felt like hitting her with my car. I knew she was taunting me and I should just let her be but she was really getting under my skin.

" Whoa! Why did you slam the door like that, you could have broken it."

" Fuck the door what the hell were you doing having lunch with Toni?"

I had grabbed her by her upper arm when she tried to walk past me to go check the door. She pulled her arm back and I noticed I had scratched her.

" You hurt me and I didn't have lunch with Toni, I had lunch with Nandi and Noni then Toni came in with Becca and Scarlet. They each tried to talk to us but we didn't give them any attention."

" That's not how Toni said it."

" I don't care what Toni said if you don't believe me call the ladies."

" I believe you, I'm sorry."

" Did she do that to your face?"

" No, this is courtesy of my friend Sal. She hit me for hooking Nan up with a friend of mine."

" You two couldn't sit down like civilised humans and talk it out."

" Why are you blaming me when I'm the one with a bruised face?"

" Knowing you you probably egged her on to hit you."

She was right but I was not about to tell her that. She grabbed a first aid kit that she kept into the house and began cleaning the scratch on my cheek which I had  put a simple bandaid over.

" About Toni, to prevent any further issues in the future, do not believe anything she says because even if we were to break up I would never go back to her."

" Don't say that we're never breaking up."

" I know I'm just saying-"

" Don't say it. You and I are going to be together forever, happily married with our three children."

" Two is enough."

" Well we'll discuss it after the wedding, now come here let me clean that for you..."

It was my turn to clean the wounds that I unintentionally caused.

" I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you."

" I know, I wouldn't be so nice if it was."

" I love you and I'll do my best not to let Toni get me riled up."

" Please don't let her take you to that place because it is her way of making you have doubts about us. I would never go back to her ever."

With her hand on her left cheek she pecked my lips but I gently gripped her lower lip when she tried to let go and kissed her.
