After a long day of basketball practice, which seemed more intense than usual and felt like the coach was a drill sergeant and not a coach, Jan grabbed his gym bag and headed out after her refreshing shower ready to go home and prepare dinner since Kelly was working late. Walking out into the parking lot, she noticed a familiar face seated on the hood of her car. Before meeting Kelly, she would have been very excited to find a woman waiting for her." You've been scarce lately."
The woman said sitting up as he approached the car and walked sultry towards her. Jan took a step back when she tried to grab her by her T-shirt.
" Well being a happily married woman will do that to you."
Jan had forgotten her name. Her reasoning was that they had only slept together twice and she was bad at recalling names. The lady seemed not to get the message and took another step towards her, blocking Jan in between the car and herself, an assertive look in her eyes.
"and what about being happily married would stop you from having a little fun?"
she purred, a challenging smile playing on her lips.
Jan could feel the tension in the air and the internal conflict raging within her. She remembered those nights of carefree passion, but those moments felt so far removed from the life she had built with Kelly."Listen, I don't think this is a good idea,"
she said cautiously, trying to sidestep the woman's advances as she attempted to keep her composure.
"I'm committed to Kelly. We have a life together."
The woman crossed her arms, leaning against the car, unfazed.
"You can't tell me you haven't thought about it. One little taste doesn't have to change everything, does it?"
Jan could feel her heart racing, the adrenaline of the unwanted attention and the nostalgic memories colliding in her mind. She appreciated the attention, but it was wrong.
"No, it does change things. I made my choices, and I intend to stick by them,"
she asserted, her voice steady, albeit with an underlying hint of uncertainty.
"Choices can be flexible, you know,"
the woman said, a seductive lilt in her voice as she leaned closer, invading Jan's personal space.
That challenge ignited a flicker of temptation. Jan glanced over the parking lot, half-hoping someone would walk by and intervene but the place was deserted, and it was just her and this lingering reminder of a past thrill.
"Please,"
Jan stepped back again, her tone firm.
"I'm serious. I want you to leave me alone."
The woman, momentarily taken aback, narrowed her eyes as if she was weighing her options.
"You don't have to deny what we had. It was... special. Just give me a chance to remind you how good it can be."
Jan shook her head, her decision resolute now.
"I'm not that person anymore. I've changed. Please don't make this any harder than it has to be."
In that instant, the woman's flirty façade cracked, revealing a flash of annoyance.
"You think this is about love? This is about desire, Jan. Don't pretend you don't feel it too,"
she snapped, her voice dropping a notch but Jan held firm, feeling the weight of her commitment pushing against the temptation swirling around her.
