𝘽𝙚𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙤𝙥 𝙛𝙡𝙤𝙤𝙧 𝙝𝙖𝙨 𝙞𝙩'𝙨 𝙖𝙙𝙫𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙜𝙚𝙨. For one, I don't have to hear the footsteps of people above my floor, because there isn't another floor above mine and the bickering always stays downstairs unless it's mum and dad yelling at each other in their room from down the hall. Two, I get the best view of the sunset from my balcony, all the red, yellow and orange mixed with a slight hue of purple. Nostalgic, isn't it?

There are some disadvantages though, like when the birds land on the roof. I can hear them loud and clear without even trying. I could have my pillow over my ears and tied to my head with rope, chain and duck tape, yet, they are still annoying as ever. The stairs are another problem, they don't squeak like you see them do in horror movies, so everyone stomps their way up the stairs too early in the morning.

There's an lady that lives next door, who keeps a rooster in her yard. She calls him Buck, I call him my next dinner. Though, sadly I haven't be able to eat the poor soul yet. My sister keeps telling me to forget about the idea of trying to eat Buck, thankfully she can't read minds, otherwise she would've beaten me with her book by now and I'd be down twelve feet under.

''Y/n, get up! Mum has been calling you for ten minutes!'' Hermione knocked on my door, sounding like she was about to break it down.

''Go away.'' I groaned, pulling my thick blanket over my head more and my head further into my pillow. I couldn't even tell that mum was calling me and I could barely hear anything that Hermione had said. It was either because of my ears that were smashed into the pillow or the rooster next door that wouldn't shut the hell up.

Hermione hadn't said anything after that, so I'm guessing she walked away from the door. She has always been slightly jealous, mostly just because of my room. I had the bigger and better room and I used to excuse that I was older then her to get it.

Surprisingly, Buck had also shut up. I wasn't expecting him to be quiet, since he is basically the neighborhood alarm clock, I've asked around and they also hate him as much as we do. I was able to finally get some more sleep, which was almost impossible earlier due to the fact that Buck wanted to do his job correctly.

When my mind had finally drifted off, to a dream where I had been owning a doughnut and tea shop and some weird person with long white beard that touched the floor had came in, asking for a Flaming Kiwi Cup. I told him there wasn't any, until he told me to check the back and when I did, there it was, the Flaming Kiwi Cup. It was like a holy grail at the time, though I didn't know how it got there.

''Alright, up!''

''Flaming Kiwi Cups. . .'' I shot up, headbutting my mum in the process which made her stumble back and me fall off the bed. I landed on the floor with a thud and a small, 'ow'.
