He said that he was fine, not wanting to currently explain what had happened. He was paying attention to Ginny at the time, since she had tried gently wiping more blood off his face.
He is completely smitten for the girl and Ron doesn't see that. I wonder how he'll react when he finds out. Hermione had slapped Ron with a book a few times, before he told her to turn around when Harry walked in. Poor Ron, always getting hit with a book. Usually by Hermione, otherwise, it would've been Snape.
Other then that, Dumbledore had gave out another announcement. There was a new Professor this year at Hogwarts. I mean, when isn't there one? There's been a new Professor every year and all for the same position of Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor. Only because Harry seems to have an addiction to killing them off. Now, nobody dared to cross Harry Potter.
His name is Horace Slughorn, and he is taking the position of Potions Master.
Everyone applauded as the man stood. I did too, but paused before I clapped again. He didn't know, did he? Was he going to continue to make my Wolfsbane? To be completely honest, I didn't trust him to do so. He's a new Professor and he could slip anything into that Potion. Not to mention, accidentally messing it up and killing me during a full moon. I'd rather not fancy having a problem like that.
Professor Snape finally got his dream job. Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor. More applauding echoed around the room, the Gryffindor table more unsure about whether to clap or not. The Slytherin's didn't waste time in doing so. I looked over at their table, seeing Theo and Blaise with slightly worried looks. Pansy and Daphne didn't see a problem with it.
Draco didn't look like he was even listening. He had his hand resting on one side of his head, leaning against the table. He didn't look up to meet my gaze, just kept it down on the table. What was he thinking about? He hadn't talked to me or even tried to make contact after last night, outside the twins shop.
I decided to ask him about it later, trying to tune back into the speech that Dumbledore was giving. As I did so, my head started to spin. And not the way that the ghosts do, like I was dizzy. There was pressure at the back of my head, pushing against my skull. Almost as if something was trying to intrude my head. Something that I didn't want.
Shaking my head, I looked around the room. Slughorn was just picking at his food, making a few faces along the way. The man was a little weird to say the least. But, I guess we all are in the end. Snape was sitting there with his eyes closed, shoulders up and head held like he owned the place. Like he usually did.
