I told Hermione about my findings and turns out, Cedric was right, Hermione did get less information then I had. She only knew very little from what the Beauxbatons had given her, along with a few side notes she had picked up. She didn't bother with the Durmstrang, since she was still crushing over Krum and couldn't face him. I mocked her a little for that, but it was short lived.
Oliver had also came to see me, looking a little sadder then usual. I had asked him why he looked so down, but he only responded that he wasn't playing against Slytherin for his last year at Hogwarts. He wouldn't get another chance to win the cup. I reassured the Gryffindor Capitan with a hand on his shoulder and a promise to win the cup next year, definitely winning against Slytherin.
That seemed to do the trick when he smiled brightly at me and instantly scooped me up into a hug. I laughed at the boys enthusiasm, it only made it a little awkward when he shouted that he could kiss me for the promise. He dropped me and also made me promise to visit him and tell him about the win, wanting every little detail, gore or not.
After I left, Dean and Neville ran by me. They kept talking about how close the first task was for the champions, and how the twins were going to be taking bets for extra money. The twins kept trying to write to Ludo Bagman, since he had scammed their money so he got everything from the bet they made at the World Cup. It was quite despicable.
We all kept sharing crazy ideas about what the first task could be, Dean said something about having to fly around the school on a broken broom. Neville said something about dangerous and deadly plants that they have to pass. I let out an idea that the first task might involve something stupid, possibly Percy singing in the shower. Trust me, I've heard it.
As we continued back and forth, giving off suggestions about what the first task would be. I happened to spot a familiar face in the crowd, one that I respectfully despised. Barty Crouch was standing at the corner of a corridor, scanning the mass crowd of students head of him and a little ways down the corridor. I quickly bid my farewell to Dean and Neville, apologizing for cutting our conversation short.
I didn't want to be anywhere near Crouch, nor did I even want to be seen by the man. He really gave me a bad feeling ever since he tried taking away some of my memories, though I still didn't know what he wanted to take away in the first place. Walking the opposite way down the corridor, I heard footsteps from the people around me, focusing more if the footsteps were heavy.
