He could've at least said something that related to him knowing about it, maybe then I could've had someone to help me whenever Hermione keeps asking where I went the night before.
I helped Cedric and Harry in the Library the day before. I spent most of the day with Harry in the Library, since Hermione wasn't there to help him with it. Soon enough I sent him off to bed, since he would've needed it in the morning. Then Cedric walked in, also asking for help, to which I obliged. Surely enough, Viktor and Fleur already have their tactics down.
Cedric said that he didn't know what dragons they had for them to face, which caused his nerves to go through the roof. I calmed him down and grabbed a few books about dragons, both of us alternating sentences if information from the book to better remember them. We went through at least five or six thick books about dragons, along with a little things I knew that Hagrid had told me in the past.
While we were studying, I had trailed off the dragon topic and onto the topic about the tournament. Harry didn't want to be in the tournament, which Cedric was on the fence about. Viktor was in the tournament because he could be and knew that he would be able to get through these tasks without a problem. At least, I think that's what he thought.
I didn't know what Fleur was in the tournament about, but it seemed she brought her sister with her to Hogwarts. I'm guessing she wanted to make her sister proud, or maybe her parents back home in France. When I had asked Cedric about why he was in the tournament, he smiled down at the book and slowly looked up at me.
''I want to make my father proud.'' He said, almost as if his father wasn't proud of him already. I'm sure he was, I've seen the way he praises Cedric almost every second of the day when we traveled to the World Cup together.
''That's not the only reason, is it?'' I asked with a raised brow, seeing Cedric chuckling when he looked back at the book.
''Alright, yes.'' He nodded. ''I want people to see me for more then just my looks. When I graduate I want to be known for something more then just my amazing looks.'' He was complimenting himself at the same time, leaning back in his chair to look up at me.
''At least you know what other people think of you.''
''Well, let's just say. Their whispers aren't so loud.'' He shrugged, laughing a bit with me. It made sense that he wanted to go down in history for something instead of the Hufflepuff Quidditch Seeker and Captain. He wanted something big, something that not everyone could do and the Tri-Wizard Tournament seemed to be the perfect thing to go for.
