chapter 117

Me and derek are stood, holding hands as we watch the twins play with the toys In the pre-school.

"Oh my god they're gonna make a friend" I whisper as I see a guy walk over to them. Derek chuckles softly. "Goddamn it" I say as the boy steals a toy from mia.

Mia starts crying. "I'm gonna kill him" I walk towards them. "She's fine mer.. and he's 3" he pulls me back. He wraps his arms around my waist from behind.

"Mr and Mrs shepherd?" A teacher walks over to us. I smile. "Meredith and derek" I say. She smiles. "So, how do you like the pre-school so far?" She asks.

"Its good.. I think merediths a bit confused on some of the work but we guessed that'd happen" Derek jokes. "You should see if they have a space left here for you" I roll my eyes. She chuckles.

"Its a really good pre-school.. we went here when we were younger, you know?" I smile. "Really?" She asks. I nod.

"Both of you?" She asks. "Yeah.. we've known eachother since we were babies" I say. "And now you're married?" She asks. "Engaged.. married soon" I say. "That's so sweet" she says. We smile.

The teacher is really nice. She has a high ponytail, her hair is brunette and she's about the same height as me. She's in her 30s. She has blue eyes and freckles all over her nose and forehead.

Her name is miss brown. There's a few more teachers here too but I think she's the one in charge.

"Mommy" Mia tugs on my pants. "Yeah?" I pick her up. "That boy over thewe pulled my hair" she points at a boy.

"I'm so sorry.. I think my son just pulled your daughters hair" a women walks over to us with her son on her hip. Mia pushes her face into my neck.

"Oh, she's okay" I stroke her hair gently. "Say sorry" she says to her son. "I'm sowwy" he says. "I do not accept your apowogy" Mia says. I chuckle softly.

"Mia be nice" I say. She frowns at me. "No" she says. I raise my brow. She sighs.

"Fine.. I accept your apowogy" she says. "Thankyou" I whisper. I smile at the mom. "Thankyou" she whispers. She walks away.

"Do you like it here so far Mia?" The teacher asks. She nods. "The toys are weally good" she says. I smile.

"Can you get your brother please? We need to go" I put her down. "Okay" she walks away. "You're leaving already?" The teacher asks.

"Yeah, we need to get to our school" I chuckle. "You're in college? What course?" She asks. "We're med students" Derek says.

The twins run over to us. We hold their hands. "You ready to go?" I ask. They nod. "You can't take the toys with you baby" I chuckle as I see her holding a Teddy. She pouts.

"She can keep it" miss brown says. "Really? That's so nice.. what do you say Mia?" I say. "Thankyou" she smiles. I smile as she hugs miss browns leg.

"Oh, that's okay sweetie" she chuckles softly, stroking her hair gently. We say bye and leave. We get in Derek's car and he starts driving.

"So.. what did you think?" I hold his hand. He entwines our fingers. "Its not like I remember it when we were younger" he says. "I know" I say.

"But it seems nice there.. the teachers are really nice and the twins seemed to like everyone" he says. "Almost everyone.. I do not wike that boy who puwed my hair" Mia interrupts. I giggle.

"So?" I look at him. "I think that's the pre-school" he says. I smile. "What do you think babies?" He asks. "Yeah!" They both say. We smile.

We arrive at school, drop the babies off with izzie and Mark in the break room and go to class.

"That's wrong" Derek points at my notes. "What?" I ask. "That diagram.. its wrong" he says. I furrow my brows. He shows me his. "Oh my god" I correct it.

"Are you okay?" He chuckles softly. "Yeah.. distracted" I chuckle. "By what?" He asks. "You think mia will get bullied? In school" I ask. "No.. she's perfect" he says.

"I did" I say. "She'll be fine baby" he kisses my cheek. "I guess.. but I had you to defend me" I frown. "And she has her brother" he says. I smile. "Yeah, she does" I say. He kisses me softly.

After class ends we pick up the twins from izzie and mark, and derek drives us home. Me and derek are laid in bed with the twins between us.

"You have fun today?" I ask. "Yeah" they both say. I turn to face Mia. I smile. She giggles, looking into my eyes. "Really?" I ask. "Yeah.. I had fun" she says.

"But.. you know next time.. if you go again, Mommy and daddy won't be there with you" I say. "Why not?" She asks. "Because you go to school by yourself" I say. "Oh" she says.

"You're okay with that?" I ask. She nods. "Lucas?" I ask. "Yeah.. I'm okay" he says. I smile, letting out a breath. "I love you babies" I say, kissing them both playfully, tickling them. They giggle.

I kiss derek softly. I smile, looking into his eyes. "I love you" I say. "I love you" he kisses me again softly. I lay back down. We cuddle with the babies until we fall asleep.
