"no fucking way," he grabbed my wrist once he saw what i was trying to do and tugged. i was not going to just idle here while i let nancy and robin find steve on their own. who knows what's in there?
who knows what's in there. i shuddered at the thought. i could not believe we were here all over again and i could not fucking believe i managed to drag him into this.
"eddie, i told you that doing this came with some risks," i said without looking back, "i'll be back. please, stay here," and with that i dove. i didn't know what i expected, but i didn't expect to swim for what felt like miles in this cold ass water until finally the shiny red thing was big enough to touch.
i got sucked into the portal and quickly thrown onto land. i looked around the dump as i took some deep breaths.
"home sweet home," i muttered. i tried not to think about eddie. that idiot. i wanted nothing more than to convince him to go home, to stay away from all of this, but once he found out, there was no turning him away.
i grabbed a nearby stick, just in case, and slowly started walking around.
"holy fuck," i heard behind me. no fucking way.
"you don't listen do you?" i groaned. "c'mon let's find them," i said quickly after because now was not a time to scold him for being stupid.
"y'know," he said as he picked up a rock, "i think that's at least 10 points. jumping to rescue you... not just anyone does that. you should be falling head over heels for me."
"only idiots do," i smiled. despite it all, eddie could still make me smile. "what the f—" i quickly ducked as a big ass bat shit looking thing swooped towards me. nothing in the upside down is good, so we immediately started shanking it once we could. it shrieked and squirmed on the floor, we ran.
finally, we spotted robin, nancy and steve who were struggling with a shit ton more. steve was on the floor with one wrapped around his neck. quickly, eddie and i joined them and helped steve break free.
"there's too fucking many," i yelled over the bat looking shits screeches. we started running until we ended up at skull rock in this place.
"so um.. this place is just like hawkins except with monsters and shit?" eddie said with a worried look on his face.
"pretty much," nancy replied while letting steve catch his balance. "watch out for the vines," she said immediately.
"what?"
"they're all connected," said steve. "it's like they are all part of him or something. if you step on any of that shit, you're stepping on vecna, and we're all fucked." he finished. i shuddered at the thought then i looked over at eddie who looked pale as shit. again, i feel horrible bringing him here.
robin let out a deep breath, "oh-kay. it'll be fine. it's fine," she seemed to be telling herself a lot more than us.
eddie breathed heavily as well and shot me a fuck fuck fuck look.
i came over and patted his back, "we will be fine. we've done it before," i looked at the rest of the gang. i needed to believe it.
—
finally, we decided to look for guns at nancy's house. that way we can get rid of all the bats that are guarding the gates, our way out.
"woah," i was staring at their family pictures on these fucked up walls. it's crazy how real this all is. "where do you keep them?" i asked loudly just as robin and nancy were heading upstairs.
