Chapter 11-More than Friends

Isabella's POV
"Nicholas?" I say his name and he looks at me first then his eyes drift to the person beside me

"Isabella" he says walking towards me.

"I was hoping to meet you but your friend Jenny told me you weren't here so i was waiting." He said while handing me the flowers and i took them thanking him

"This is?" He spoke looking at Cole and i blinked my eyes. Why am i getting so flustered??

"Cole Flynn" Cole said extending his hand to Nicholas who accepted it in a firm handshake

"Nicholas Cadogan" he said smiling

"You're the famous Cadogan heir aren't you?" Cole said proudly and i looked at him stunned.

Here I didn't know about Nicholas until he came to the office and there's people who work at the hospital all day and still know about him.

"I guess i am" Nicholas says chuckling and i look between both of them

"How do you know each other?" Nicholas asks out of curiosity and i look at him stunned

"Really?" I gestured with my eyes and he shrugged his shoulders in response so i rolled my eyes at him

"I am a doctor and i was the one who studied her mom's case" Cole says straightforwardly and i relax.

"And how do you know her?" Cole says with a hint of anger and looks at Nicholas

"I am her fiancée" Nicholas says with the same tone and i snap my eyes right at him. This arrogant bitc-

"You're engaged???" Cole speaks absolutely stunned and i look at him blinking my eyes. I hesitate for a moment and lower my eyes unable to think of a response. Why does it feel like i betrayed him

"Why is something wrong?" Nicholas speaks to Cole and pulls me closer to him. I meet his eyes and he smirks at Cole who looks frustrated

"No, absolutely not- i mean Congratulations to you both. I need to go right now but Anyways i had a good time today Isabella, I'll see you tomorrow" Cole says quickly  giving me a side hug and i hug him back clueless.

I follow Cole with my eyes until he walks out of my sight then push myself away from Nicholas

"What is wrong with you?" I say with a hint of annoyance in my tone

"Hello, contract, me and you?" Nicholas spoke reminding me of the contract and i close my eyes in defeat

After the surgery and mom, i forgot i had to complete my part of the deal.

"You're right. So much happened that it slipped off my mind" i said honestly and his gaze turned warm for a second before going back to the usual cold gaze.

"Im glad that your mom is doing well" Nicholas said and i smiled at him. Wait.

"You met her already??" I asked him almost immediately and a wicked smile spread through his face

"God Nicholas" i let out a frustrated sigh and went into the room while he followed me

I opened the door and saw my mom and jenny talking to each other

My mom looked so weak but she had a smile on her face, the smile of a warrior and i was happy for her. I followed her eyes which drifted behind me and quickly realized Nicholas's presence behind me

"Ah Isabella, I've met this handsome guy before" my mom said happily and i cursed myself beneath my breath

"Right Isabella. I didn't know you were dating Nicholas" Jenny said with a mischievous smile and my throat went dry. Why is everyone tempting me today.

"It just kind of happened" i tried making up an excuse that seemed to work at the moment.

I walked over to my mom and sat beside her taking her hand in mine. It felt so good to hold her hand like that.

"Thank you Isabella" she spoke softly and i looked at her as tears welled up in my eyes

"I am sorry for putting you through this" she said getting a little emotional and i nodded in disagreement

I quickly stood up and turned around to hide the tear that fell from my eye.

"I'm just glad you're better" i spoke with my back on everyone's sight while I quickly wiped my tear

We chatted for a few minutes and then the doctors told me they would keep her under observation for a few days then let her go. I thanked them and then took my leave.

"Isabella" Nicholas spoke from behind me as he closed the door and i looked at him

"I'll get her moved to the private room so she can feel at ease now" Nicholas said and my heart warmed at this sight of him.

"I appreciate you doing all this for me Nicholas" i said with a small smile forming on my face

"Its not for you, it's for your mom" he said smiling and i rolled my eyes at him.

"But now that every thing is back on track, you need to keep up with your end of the deal" he said with a serious tone and i nodded

"I will keep up with my part of the deal Nicholas" i said

"What deal?" Someone behind us spoke and i froze.

I slowly turned around to see Jenny with a confused expression on her face

Did she hear everything?
