Isabella's POV
i was finally looking the part as for my appearance but my body was not ready for this meeting. A shiver ran down my spine as the double doors in front of us opened revealing a private room for the Cadogans' family dinner.

Nicholas firmly held my hand and we made our way inside as all eyes turned to us. A few familiar faces passed me their smiles and it made me relaxed but at the same time two pair of eyes looked me up and down judging me. Nicholas's mother and his younger brother.

Nicholas pulled out a chair for me and sat beside me

"Hello everyone" he said in a bold voice and everyone relaxed under this gaze.

"This is Isabella, some of you have already met her, know her. For people who don't, she is my girlfriend" he spoke cutting off to the point. He paused after this announcement probably giving people time to digest this piece of information

My eyes met Mr.Anthony's whose gaze remained warm and full of love for me. He smiled at me and i smiled back at him extremely thankful for his soft response

Everyone got involved in a conversation with each other and i felt at ease but at the same time that one pair of eyes looking at me made me uncomfortable

I looked at Nicholas's younger brother who stared at me with his deep green eyes and his stare gave me goosebumps

"Silas?" Nicholas spoke to his younger brother who snapped out of the daydream and looked at him

"I am sorry i was just- you're very pretty" Silas said with a sudden embarrassment and i blushed

"How did Nicholas even managed to grab your attention" Silas spoke in a sarcastic tone and i chuckled

The mood around the room lightened as everyone got in a conversation with me and i started getting knowing them.

"Isabella" Nicholas's mom spoke to me from across the table and i looked at her politely

"Why did you want to be with Nicholas?" She spoke to me and the smile on my face faded. What was she referring to?

"It's obviously his good looks" jenny said jokingly and everyone except for Nicholas's mom laughed

She looked at me as if still waiting for a response from me. I leaned forward a little and put on a confident expression

"It was because of how he treated me and eventually because of my strong feelings for him" i said confidently and noticed Nicholas looking at me with pride from the corner of my eye

His mom looked at me for a second then suddenly broke into a grin

"Im so glad you did. I was worried he wouldn't find someone as good but now that he has you, i have no regrets. You're everything I could've asked for in a daughter in law" she said proudly and my heart was beating wildly inside my chest

"You did a very good job raising this beautiful girl" Mr.Anthony spoke to my mom who shyly thanked him and everyone once again got involved in conversations. The rest of the dinner passed with no disturbances and it was time for dessert

"Before everyone proceeds to eat the last meal and go home, i want to say something" Nicholas rose from his chair and looked at me

"Isabella, you are the first and probably the only women i've had these kind of strong feelings for. I don't know how to say those long speeches but i guess thats not needed since you already know how much you mean to me." Nicholas spoke and took out a small box from his side pocket

He dropped down to one knee and i gasped in surprise getting up.

Whatthehell is happening. The proposal wasn't in the scene????

"Will you Marry me?" Nicholas spoke in a bold voice and suddenly all eyes were on me. My throat went dry and I didn't know what to say. I looked to the several staff members then to the family members who were eagerly waiting for my response to the question and i grew nervous

"Of course Nicholas" I spoke quickly and he rose from the position pulling me in for a soft hug. He slipped the ring in my ring finger and everyone burst into applauses

Jenny came running to me as she pulled me in a hug almost killing me.

I looked to my mom who was already looking at me with proud teary eyes and the moment bought me to instant guilt of the lie we were setting up for everyone.
