The Unraveled Web (Story 2 - Chapter 4)

With Venno: 

Everyone in the room was startled out of Jerry’s explanation by the sound of someone gasping. 

Turning to see who it was, everyone saw that Jake and Hanna were standing near the door which had been left unlocked by Scott after the Possum demon opened it to allow Dexx to come in. 

Considering the Anglerfish demon lived with Venno, he had the opportunity to meet the young Spider demon and Shadow demoness, so he knew who they were. 

“What’s going on here? We saw a few customers waiting outside like they wanted to come in, but they told us that you had kicked them out for some sort of meeting” asked Jake, the young Spider demon worried about his aunt. 

Arachnè sighed and hung her head, her hands clutching her head. 

“I didn’t want you to find out about this. How long have you been standing there?” asked Arachnè, the Black Widow demoness unable to meet his worrying eyes. 

“We came in about five minutes ago. I think it was around the part where you two were preparing to shoot. Arachnè, you were a Bounty Hunter?” asked Jake, the Spider demon still unable to believe what he had heard. 

Hanna snapped her fingers, the Shadow demoness smiling when she realized something. 

“That would explain why you have a motorcycle. You must have used it back then” said the Shadow demoness. 

Arachnè nodded her head, the Black Widow demoness glancing away. 

“She was one of the best, until the incident that pushed us all over the edge” said Jerry, the Spider demon scowling at the thought of the two suddenly intruding on the interrogation. 

Even Venno couldn’t help but sigh in frustration and annoyance, the Velociraptor demoness hiding her face in her hands as Dexx wrapped an arm around her shoulder and pulled her in for a comforting and gentle hug. 

“Just continue with your explanation please. Jake and Hanna, you can stay since you’re already here. Scott, continue taking notes please” said Venno, the Velociraptor demoness suddenly looking more tired than she had when Dexx had first interrupted. 

Jerry nodded, the Spider demon giving Jake and Hanna a quick glare in disapproval, but he knew that they both had the right to know considering the young Spider demon was Arachnè’s nephew and he was dating the Shadow demoness. 

“Alright, where was I?” muttered Jerry, the Spider demon taking a slow puff from his cigarette as he remembered where he had been interrupted. 

Flashback: 

The two Spider demons burst into the small office space, startling everyone inside. 

Jerry took a quick puff from his cigar before crushing it in his hand as he walked over to the Bounty Hunter he recognized. 

The Spider demon threw the crushed cigar at the Bounty Hunter’s face, some of the ash and pieces getting in his eyes and mouth since he didn’t expect this to happen. 

“That’s for causing all that fucking shit you pulled in New Strip City you rogue Bounty Hunter asshole” said Jerry, the Spider demon beyond infuriated with what has happened. 

“What’s going on, Sniper? You’re not normally this angry at anyone” asked one of the Bounty Hunters, concerned and confused as he grabbed the Bounty Hunter’s shoulder and pushed him away to get help with his face. 

“The bloody nerve of some of you so called Bounty Hunters. That guy ruined our shot in New Strip City when Widow and I were about to take out the mayor. We called the bloody bounty, and we even told you all about it. This idiot dropped in out of nowhere and ruined it all, missing every shot he took and allowing the mayor to get away” exclaimed Jerry, the Spider demon shouldering his sniper rifle over his shoulder so the strap would sit more comfortably.
