Venno Rapter - The Hellish Series Returns - Series Two

The Spider's Broken Web (Story 6 - Chapter 2)

With Venno: 

The Velociraptor demoness and her fiance quickly rushed into the lobby of the old casino, the Anglerfish demon helping Venno with an arm wrapped around her and his other hand holding hers. 

Fiona, Barry, and Scott were close to follow, the two Canine demons and Possum demon all just as worried about the wellbeing of their old boss as Venno and Dexx were. 

The second they came into the lobby, they spotted the old Spider demon sitting in his wheelchair with Slendithera pacing back and forth in front of him, a worried look on her face as Rad perked up at the sight of their arrival. 

“Slendithera, Rad, what happened?” asked Venno, the Velociraptor demoness trying to remain calm as Dexx helped her over, the Anglerfish demon doing a great job in keeping her calm by remaining by her side. 

“That’s what I’m trying to figure out, but he won’t explain what happened. He refuses to tell me and says it’s, and I quote, none of my fucking bussiness” explained Slendithera, the Porcelain Monster demoness halting her pacing as she turned to her older sister as Barry, Fiona and Scott came over to examine the Spider demon. 

Jerry just remained silent, his eyes glowing a little and his third pair of arms out for some reason, a good indication that he was enraged about something but wasn’t willing to admit it. He was a little bruised up, but other than that, he seemed physically alright. Who knew if the Spider demon was hiding any serious injuries, but Venno had a feeling that he wouldn’t tell them if they asked. 

Rad nodded in agreement, the Toxic Sludge demon sneaking a quick glance back at the Spider demon in the wheelchair. 

“We were both in our rooms when we heard his swearing and a few thumps, most likely him falling down the stairs” explained Rad, the Toxic Sludge demon recalling what they heard, having not actually witnessed what happened. 

Venno just nodded in understanding, the Velociraptor demoness turning her attention to Jerry who was getting bombarded with questions by the two Canine demons and Possum demon. 

“Jerry, please tell us what’s on your mind. We want to be able to help you” said Venno, the Velociraptor demoness still shaken up from the call that Scott made, having told her about the now missing prosthetic leg which was meant to be a surprise gift from all of them to their old boss. 

Jerry just took a deep breath and sighed deeply, clearly hesitant to say anything, but knew that his old employees wouldn’t like it if he remained silent to them. 

“Fine. No, I didn’t do it on purpose if that’s what you want to know. I’m not that desperate to end my life. I’m just sick and tired of being stuck in this bloody wheelchair with nothing else to do but sit in my room all alone for most of the day. I’m not the kind of guy who sits around during retirement, I need to get up and do stuff. Not to mention, when I am alone in my room, I feel like I’m completely and utterly alone with no one to keep me company. You’re all at work and your siblings are always off doing their own thing. I have no family down here, no blood relatives. It’s fucking frustrating, is what I’m trying to say” explained Jerry angrily, the Spider demon trying not to explode in anger. 

Everyone was a little shocked to hear this, everyone exchanging worried glances as Venno began thinking. 

“You’re not alone, Mr.Rifele. You have us, we care about you because we look up to you” said Fiona, the Pomeranian demoness giving Jerry a quick hug, much to the Spider demon’s displeasure, but he didn’t want to show it. 

Barry nodded. 

“Yeah, why do you think we want you to stick around? You were the best boss we could ever ask for. We’re happy that you were the one who decided to become the first Overlord of Bounty Hunting. Plus, you’ve passed down all of your knowledge down to us other Bounty Hunters. You trusted your instincts with Venno, and now she’s just as great as you were” said Barry, the Wolf Hound demon smiling.
