The normally bustling city of Sydney seemed to contrast the image it had created. A calming silence engulfed the neighbourhoods as every individual seemed to soothe themselves in the warmth of their family. A national holiday was being celebrated; Australia Day. A day to acknowledge the founding of Australia by Captain Arthur Phillip. 26th January 1788 was the day Australia was declared as a part of the British Colony and to this day, it is celebrated with great vigour.
The gorgeous city of Sydney was decorated beautifully. The neighbourhoods enjoyed the silence as the commotion surrounded the Harbour. Sasha stared out of her window, glancing at the almost desolate roads. The gorgeous Jacaranda trees whose petals were complimented by the late afternoon sky. Nervousness engulfed her veins as she felt an adrenaline rush every passing second. She was getting ready for the big show. It was a Saturday and she was meeting Aiden's parents today. He belonged to quite an aristocratic family, so she needed to present herself nicely.
From what she knew Aiden's father, Archer Ivan Morgan, was a well-known businessman who runs a conglomerate. His mother was not any less in her calibre. An editor to the famous electronic newspaper Notes of Australia. Oliva Morgan. An independent and flawless woman she was, and often made to the news for not being the wife of the renowned business magnate but rather because of her idealistic career as a woman. Sasha had always admired her work, as she wanted to flourish in her life. The stakes were high and she needed to impress them.
Sasha's family on the other hand was what a typical upper-middle-class family would seem like. Both her parents were working individuals. Her mom was a psychologist while her father was a management individual at a private office. Their lives went on the basic salary received by the two breadwinners who were more than good enough to live a lavish lifestyle. However, compared to Aiden's family her family was simplistic.
A sigh escaped her lips as she stared ahead at the mirror. She was wearing a royal blue jumpsuit with a plain pattern and a plunging neck. Nothing too extortionate but stylish. It gave away her curves. She styled her hair into a shining straight manner and applied minimum makeup as her skin was kind to her lately. Usually which would be flooded with pimples was glowing with clearness. Probably because of the amount of stress that she reduced over the past few weeks. Only covering subtle marks with a concealer and applying a nude pink lipstick with some mascara, she was good to go. Sasha's eyes diverted to the clock which read a quarter to the six, indicating that Aiden would be here any minute now.
Sasha inhaled and exhaled trying to calm her nerves down, anticipating a message from the male. She was clearly nervous to meet his parents, who were people of high expectations. She did not understand why Aiden rushed the meeting but her delusional mind felt a streak of happiness somewhere in there with limitless possibilities. What if he was actually serious about her?
While lost in her thoughts, a notification sound resonated through the room making her slightly flinch. Her hand hastily reached out for the phone on the vanity, only to be disappointed that it was a simple advertisement from a grocery shop. Remembering that he spoke about being here by six made her sigh at her eager stupidity. Huffing slightly, she sat down on the couch by the window, being careful not to crease the silk material of the jumpsuit or worse mess the position of her hair which she achieved after a whole lot of struggle. Soon another notification came in and Sasha looked at her phone screen with a bored expression, that said.
