My phone rang at six Monday morning.

I rolled over in my bed, groaning with how early it was. I had stayed up late talking with Jordan at his apartment Saturday night and then had stayed even later yesterday night, answering his thousands of questions and eating way too much food. So waking up at six in the morning gave me approximately nine hours of sleep in the last two nights combined. Wonderful.

Grabbing my phone with a heavy hand, I answered it without looking at the ID. "Hello?" I said groggily, sounding almost drunk from sleepiness.

"Ella!" the other person squealed. I pulled the phone away from my ear with a wince before slowly putting it back.

"Hey, Mom." I rubbed at my eyes as I slowly sat up and rested my back against my head board. "You do realize that New York is two hours ahead of here, right?"

"Oh, is it? I'm sorry. I didn't realize it would be so early there." Though she was apologizing, she didn't seem very genuine about it. "I was just calling to tell you that I've got some amazing bride's maid dresses picked out and I want you to come to New York to help me choose! I've narrowed it down to three and once we get the final one, I also need you to try yours on so we can get the alterations done fast."

Sighing, I tried to get my tired brain to catch up to her fast words. "Uh, okay. When do you want me to come?"

"I have it all planned for Wednesday."

"Wednesday?!" I exclaimed, louder than I meant to. "Ugh, Mom. You have to understand that I have stuff going on, too, and need a little bit more warning than that."

"Oh... Well, this really needs to get done so do you think you could move some stuff around? I really need you here, honey."

Closing my eyes to keep myself from rolling them, I gripped my phone tighter than it probably appreciated. Knowing there was probably no way of getting out of this with her, I sighed. "Fine, I'll figure it out."

"Great! I'll send you the tickets."

"Tickets?" I asked, noticing the plural.

"Yeah, I thought you could bring a few friends along if you wanted. Preston said I could buy as many tickets as I need so get a good little group together. I don't mind."

Well, at least one good thing was coming out of this. "Uh, okay. Thanks."

"No problem, honey! I'll text later and I can't wait to see you Wednesday. Mwah." She hung up before I could say anything back.

Putting my phone back on my nightstand, I ran my hand through my hair and took three giant breaths. Looked like this was happening.

Knowing I wouldn't be able to get anymore sleep now that I was awake, I got up and took a long hot shower. My tired muscles relaxed under the streams of steaming water and I didn't want to get out. But then my stomach decided it couldn't wait for breakfast any longer and grumbled loudly, echoing through my entire bathroom.

After changing into a pair of grey sweatpants and an old red long sleeve T-shirt, I threw my wet hair up in a messy bun and searched my kitchen for food. When I came up short, realizing that I hadn't been to the store since last week, I crossed my arms and harrumphed.

An idea fluttered to my mind and even though it was early, I grabbed my phone and sent a text off to Jordan. Hey, are you awake?

Surprisingly, he answered a minute later, Yeah, I went for a run but I'm almost back to my apartment. Wanna come over?

I smiled. Sure, I'll bring breakfast.

EGG MCMUFFINS?!

I laughed, shaking my head. Sure, egg mcmuffins.
