listening to your voice while i fell asleep was
the closest i'd ever come to true happiness

kairi

mp: what position do u play?

kc: goalie

kc: wbu

mp: midfield

mp: we should play at the park today

if i'm being honest, i really did enjoy whatever time me and mattia spent with each other, mostly just because of how funny he was and how annoying he could be at times.

"kairi! walk your sister to her friends house!" i heard my mom yell from the kitchen.

maiya has been bugging me and mom all day about going to her friends house because she hasn't seen her 'bff' in 'ages'

even though she saw her like one weekend ago.

she's always been such a drama queen.

"ok!" i called out loud enough for her to hear before going downstairs and to the front door.

what sucked was that with my condition, my mom was even more protective over me rather than my little sister.

she barely let me go out unless it was for something educational.

"it's just for an hour mom, and i'm gonna see someone from school, please? i'll be quick." i begged, but obviously my mom would use why sort of excuse so i would stay home and she could monitor me.

"no, after your bad headaches i don't trust you leaving. you stay here where your pills are. okay baby?" she asked me.

but i really wanted to go out.

mattia and i were gonna go over to one of his favorite fields and play soccer.

i was gonna bring two nets and he was bringing our gear and the ball.

"but...mattia needs the nets ma-"

"kairi! i said no, go to your room. you can hang out with your friend some other day."

i sighed, it's not fair that maiya can go out whenever she wants as long as she has a ride or someone bringing her back, and permission.

i had only one of those, a drive from mattia, but no permission from my mom.

"it's not fair that maiya's twelve years old and she can do whatever she wants, she's basically still a baby and you let her do anything!" i yelled, seeing my mom huff and roll her eyes as she wiped the dining table down. "then invite your friend over here and you guys can play in the backyard-as long as you aren't pushing yourself too hard kairi."

"seriously? then you guys are gonna be so awkward anytime i'm hanging out with him, promise you won't be weird?" i asked, seeing my mom nod her head.

"you won't even know i live here, now stop complaining and take your medicine." she said, wiping her hands off on a clean dish rag and grabbing the small pill bottle from my medicine caddy next to the microwave, "mama, can you ask the doctor if i have to take it every morning and night? like i understand taking them once a day but if i do it twice it makes me too tired and i can't function the rest of the day." i said, taking the bottle from her and popping the top off.
