ever has it been that love knows not
it's own depth until the hour of separation

third pov

mattia stood quietly at the kitchen island, helping his mom peel the potato's she was gonna use for dinner tonight.

"you should invite your friend over, matti." she suddenly said, mattia looking over at his mom and pouting slightly.

mattia still hadn't told her about how kairi and him had stopped being friends. she didn't ask so he never found a reason to, especially since both his parents had only met kairi once.

"nah, it's fine...i'm sure he's busy doing other stuff, ma." he replied quickly.

"he can just stop by and eat something quick-"

"no mom, it's fine. he doesn't wanna come over anyway."

instead of putting up and argument and raising her blood pressure which was dangerous for the baby, she just huffed, turning her head and focusing her attention back on cooking since her son seemed like he wanted nothing to do with her at the moment.

"oh shit!" alvaro shouted as robert tackled him, rolling him over on his stomach and pinning his arms above his head, tickling him everywhere to get the boy below him to let go of the football.

"unhand it!" robert yelled, making alvaro shout and cry out 'no!'

"you guys always take things too damn far." alejandro groaned, standing from his spot at their lunch picnic table to go and break the boys apart.

"get off each other, you monsters." he huffed, reaching down and peeling robert off of alvaro, throwing him to the ground and helping alvaro up.

"tell him to quit being a ball hog!"

"you were the one who recommended we play football! dumbass!"

"the both of you, shut up!" kairi yelled.

making all three of the boys heads snap up to look at the now angry kairi.

"s-sorry kai..." the wresting boys apologized, dusting themselves off before alvaro dropped the football, both of them sitting down quietly at the picnic table.

kairi rolled his eyes before looking back down at his computer, typing away at his essay for language arts.

"uh...you ok, kairi?" alejandro asked as he took his spot on the bench beside roshaun and mikey, the both of them quiet as a mouse since it seemed like kairi was mad and talking would probably make things worse.

"i'm fine, you guys are just always so loud. we don't always have to be so talkative at lunch. all of you just shut up—for once in your lives." he huffed, rubbing his forehead frustratedly because he just couldn't get any work done with all his friends sitting here with him.

"ok. jeez, sorry..." alejandro mumbled, staring over at his finished tray of food.

"uh...y'know maybe we should just put this stuff inside and give you some time to do your work...is that fine?" ale asked. kairi just shrugging, "couldn't care less."

robert and alvaro sighed, looking over at alejandro who gave them a 'shut up' look

they all said their goodbyes to kairi before grabbing their stuff and leaving, the five of them trailing off back inside and leaving their empty trays beside the trash can in the cafeteria.
