oh, oh, oh, be my baby
oh, oh, oh. it's always have and never hold
you've begun to feel like home
what's mine is yours to leave or take

mattia's prayer somewhat worked.

kairi left the hospital the day after his surgery, no signs of an infection of any sort or any complications.

but mattia didn't know that. so he spent the rest of that week worrying like his life depended on it. maybe because it did but whatever.

it was saturday now, and the weather outside was shitty. mattia's mom was asleep on the couch, his dad was in the garage building a crib for the baby from scratch, and gianluca was up in his room on his ipad.

mattia didn't wanna be down in his room for the rest of the day, instead he decided he would offer to take gianluca bowling or to an arcade of some sort. he wasn't to sure but he didn't want them both just sitting inside.

"hey gian...whatcha doin'?" mattia asked as he walked into his little brothers room, toys scattered all over the floor while gian laid in bed tapping away on the ipad screen.

"nothing, just watching spongebob." he replied, turning the device to show mattia the episode where spongebob makes these colorful krabby pattie's that keep staining everyone's tongues.

"that's my favorite episode," mattia replied, closing the door behind him and going to sit beside his little brother, crushing a few of his stuffed animals in the process. gian just nodded at his brothers reply before looking back down to his show.

"as fun as watching spongebob is, i was thinking me and you could go to an arcade, or bowling?"

"why?"

"cause, it would be fun...you don't wanna play some arcade games?"

"yeah...but why do you wanna take me?"

"it would be fun to do something instead of sitting inside, doesn't that sound fun?"

gian just shrugged. it may have taken some convincing but mattia finally got gian dressed and in the car to head off to the arcade.

after about three hours at the arcade, it hit mattia that he really didn't realize how funny gian was.

mattia wished he spent the years—feeling upset and pushing his family away—with his brother instead and remembering that what he did and how he treated gian would affect him in the future.

he couldn't help but stare at gian any chance he got, just because he really was a mini copy of mattia.

after they spent the majority of their day at the arcade, only bowling here and there, they decided to go back home before their parents worried about them too much.

"you wanna watch a movie when we get home?" mattia questioned once they were about ten minutes away from their destination.

gian hummed happily and mattia took that as him agreeing to his older brothers idea.

gian wasn't sure why his big brother was being so nice to him, but he was. and gian wasn't gonna take it for granted.
