"you scared the living shit out of me, you dumbass!" robert yelled as soon as he laid eyes on his best friend.

"don't ever do that ever again!" he told him sternly, wanting to grab him by the shoulders and shake him to realize how much of an idiot kairi was being.

"oops, sorry! i didn't have much time to text you since i thought death was about to rain down on me!" kairi shouted back as he slipped his crocs on his feet, watching his friends pile into his hospital room.

"you could have at least-at least told your mom to call us or something-i was so worried kairi, last time you didn't come to school...you-"

"guys, jesus. i'm fine...see?..." kairi said, spinning around to show how he had full mobility and was able to move around without being in any sort of pain.

"i'm going home today, so as soon as i'm out of here, we can head to mcdonald's and go crazy on some mcflurrys or something...yeah?" kairi asked, his friends looking at him with small smiles on their faces. thankful that the youngest kid in their friend group was okay and healthy.

"yeah...that sounds great kai," roshaun told him, sitting back on the tiny blue couch beside kairi's bed.

kairi had only been at the hospital for two days, yet his friends had lost their minds not seeing him around at all.

if kairi thought his friends reactions were dramatic, then mattia's was ten times worse.

"dad, i'm fine!" kairi shouted, moving around in his dads arms as he kicked open his son's bedroom door, carefully laying the younger boy down in his bed.

"i don't care, i'll carry you everywhere if i have to, you aren't walking until i say so." his dad told him sternly, grabbing a blanket and tucking it over the boy.

"but what about school?"

"online?"

kairi huffed and rolled his eyes. giving his mom a 'really?' look as his dad started to unpack his clothes from his hospital bag.

kairi loved how protective both his parents were, but he had to admit, it did get annoying at times just how protective they really were.

kairi stayed online for his classes for the rest of the week, falling asleep in most of them because he couldn't focus in his bed.

mp: where the hell are you?

kairi flinched as he heard his computer ding, lifting his head up to see a message from mattia, along with some emails from his teachers telling him what work he had for today.

"dang-it..." he groaned, realizing he just slept through most of the day.

it was friday, and kairi still hadn't answered any of mattia's texts, he just hoped that the older boy wouldn't worry too much and try to come to kairi's house.

he was so wrong.

"kairi! your friends here!" maiya yelled out to her older brother as she got home from school.
