9 -《ROSES》

Saki was starting to regret bringing her brother to the Wonderstage.

Let's start from the beginning.

 

"ONII-CHAN-"

"NOOOOOOO!!!"

Saki shot down the stairs, sprinting after her brother.  He squeaked and ran, usual blanket wrapped around himself.

"ONII-CHAN, YOU NEED TO GO OUT MORE!"

"NO I DON'T!"

She darted past the couch and he ran to the other side of it. "YOU DON'T EVER GO OUTSIDE ANYMORE APART FROM SCHOOL AND CLUBS!"

"YES I DO-"

Saki scowled at him. "That's a lie and we both know it!"

"So?!" He sputtered.

"Do you even have any friends to hang out with?!"

"I do!"

"In real life?!"

"...THAT DOESN'T MATTER."

"Look, maybe you should come to the Wonderstage with me!"

"I don't want to!"

"I thought you liked theater?!"

"NOT WHEN YOU'RE FORCING ME TO COME WITH YOU!"

"TOO BAD-"

 

"Guys, look who I have coming to visit the stage with me!"

They all stared at the guest, who looked much like Saki herself. He smiled(?)

(If Mizuki was being honest, he looked much like he was forcing the odd grin.)

(By the look the three all shared, Kohane and Rui probably agreed too.)

"I brought my brother here to see the stage, I hope you don't mind..."

He waved awkwardly. "I'm Tsukasa Tenma, nice to meet you guys."

"I'm Kohane Azusawa."

"Mizuki Akiyama! Though I think I've seen you at school..."

"Rui Kamishiro, a pleasure to meet you," Rui said. "I assume we also go to the same school."

(Saki noticed her brother blush slightly upon looking at Rui.)

(No... he didn’t! I must be imagining things.)

(...I better be imagining things.)

"So what brings you to our stage?"

Tsukasa hesistated, and if you looked closely his eyes held a slight... something. "...my sister mentioned doing shows here."

He and Saki shared a glance. None of the other three could discern what emotion the two were glancing at each other for.

Rui looked at the other boy. "You know, we have some props in the making backstage, some of which I've built. You want to go see?"

"O-Oh! Of course, that sounds cool!"

"Mizuki, Saki, Kohane," he turned back to the other three. "You'll be alright here?"

"Sure!" Mizuki quipped, "we have to clean up the stage a bit anyway!"

Kohanes eyebrows wrinkled in confusion. "Wait, but the stage is-"

"BYE YOU TWO-"

"Mizuki, if he kills my brother wih his robots-"

"Thats not what you need to be worried for and you know it."

Saki winced. "What do you mean?!"

"Don't lie to yourself, Saki! Kohane, even you noticed!"

"I unfortunately did."

"...do not."

 

Whatever happened backstage Saki didn't like it.

He brother and Rui came back to the other three laughing at (probably) inside jokes and smiling like goofball idiots.

It wasn't her brother's smile she was concerned about because she was happy he was smiling genuinely now.

No, it was Ruis evil grin she was concerned about because when he had his evil grin it meant he was probably going to cause trouble.

And he did, by procuring a rose (somehow?? Who keeps random roses in their pockets??) And handing it to Tsukasa.

"For you, a keepsake."

"!!" Tsukasas eyes widened and he blushed even harder than before (no he didn't no he didn't HE DID NOT) "Thank you..!"

Rui laughed. "That was Romeo-like, was it not?"

"Fine, you win..."

"Whag kind of inside jokes did you two make up backstage?" Mizuki asked, hiding their giggles.

"None of importance to you."

"Rude."

"Welp!" Saki interrupted, "it's getting late, isn't it? We should probably be going..."

"Ah, bye guys!" Tsukasa said, "thanks for having me!"

"Byeee!"

 

"Saki, your brother..."

"Literally never speak to me again."
