Saki had learned that it was quite the hopeful dream for her and her friends to stay friends forever.

After all, it wasn't the greatest surprise to it back to school and learn that her friend longer talked to each other and didn't seem so interested in taking to her either.

They had made up now, of course! It was simply the product of bad circumstances qnd misunderstandings that they split up.

But she learned that it didn't do so good to put so much expectation into a friendship in a childish way like that.

So when her friends made a deal so similar to the one made with her childhood friends so many years ago during their picnic, she was a bit hesitant, to say the least.

"A vow to a friendship for forever," Mizuki said, holding out their hand for the rest of them to place their palms on. "Because even if our dreams take us different places in the future, we should at least keep in touch, you know!"

Kohane smiled. "This is quite the corny vow, coming from you, Mizuki."

"Hey, it doesn't hurt to do something fun like this, you know! I never had much friends to do corny, stereotypical friendship things with!"

"Ouch, do I not exist, Mizuki?" Rui asked jokingly.

"Heh, you know I'm kidding! We never this this sort of thing anyway. It won't hurt!"

"Right, right," he laughed, placing his hand on top of Mizuki's.

"And you, Kohane?"

"Or course," she said, adding her hand to the pile, "to a friendship with my troupemates forever."

Saki, however, hung back.

"..Saki?"

She crossed her arms and faked a laugh. "Kohane's right, Mizuki! This is pretty corny, aha."

"And yet she agreed! I thought this would've been your kinda thing, Saki?"

"I don't know..." she sighed, "it won't do good to get so attached and expect so much out of a future we can't even predict."

"Saki..." Kohanes voice was full of concern.

"Saki, we could at least hope, couldn't we?" Rui gave her a small smile. "We always have each other backs, don't we? Weren't you the one who'd always make sure of that?"

Mizuki grinned. "Join us, Saki! All for one and one for all, like we're the... four. The four musketeers!"

"Come on, let's at least think of something more creative than that..!"

"But I don't have any ideas!"

Saki laughed, reaching out a hand. "The four clowns of Phoenix Wonderland?"

"We're not even clowns!" Rui protested.

"You guys sure act like them..."

"Kohane!"

"We can figure it out along the way," Mizuki chuckled, "Okay, ready? On my akrz we say, 'all for one and one for all!'"

"This is so cringe."

"Three, two, one-"

"All for one and one for all!"

"The clowns of Phoenix Wonderland !"

"We are not calling ourselves that."
