6 -《CUPCAKES》

"Guyssss."

"What is it, Mizuki?" Kohane asked.

"Hear me out," they said, "we've been friends for a while now, so I propose: we go to someone's house to hang out."

Saki's eyes widened. "Good idea! Who's house for we want to go to?"

"...Rui?" Kohane prompted.

Without thinking, everyone turned to him. He frowned. "Don't look at me. I don't think you guys want to see the mess that my room is. I have some important upcoming projects in progress there, you know."

"I can confirm," Mizuki agreed, "last time I checked, his room was a mess."

"And it still is."

Everyone turned to Kohane instead. She stared right back at them. "Why me?!"

"Aw, come on, Kohane!" Saki pleaded, grabbing Kohanes hands, "you're the cool ringleader!"

"W-why can't we go to you or Mizuki's houses instead?!" She stammered.

"I want to see yours!!"

Kohane looked at Mizuki and Rui for help, but they both just smirked at her and choked down their laughs.

"Gah, fine..."

"Yay!"
 
 
 
On the fateful day of the visit, Saki was the first to arrive (unsurprisingly.)

"Woowww!!" She said, eyes sparkling with excitement, "Kohane, your house is so cool!"

"I'm pretty sure it's just a normal house..."

"Yeah, but now I get to see it for the first time!"

DING DONG!

"That must be the others..." Kohane mumbled, "I'll get it."

Lo and behold, outside the door stood Rui and Mizuki, two matching cheshire cat-like grins on their faces.

"Hey, Kohane."

"Kohane, hi!"

"Hi guys," she said.
 
 
 
Soon enough, Kohane and the three others  settled into the house, but-

"So..." Mizuki questioned, "...what should we all do?"

"Wha- wasn't this your idea?!"

They shrugged. "I wasn't really ever invited to anyone's house when I was younger."

"Me neither."

"I was in the hospital..."

Kohane gaped at them. "Um... right. How about..." She frantically looked around as if the answer to their question would appear out of nowhere. It did. "We bake something? Yep, that sounds good..."

"Fine by me!"

"Can we make cupcakes? Ooh, those would be yummy..!"
 
 
 
Strangely enough, the baking went pretty well.

(Mostly.)

"Ah, Saki, maybe we shouldn't put so much sugar- Mizuki, are you eating the rainbow sprinkles?!"

"They're yugbmmy!" They said, through a  mouthful of said rainbow sprinkles, "I cagbn't stop eatidg thegm!"

After that ordeal, all that was left was to put them in the oven and wait.

"Rui, can you put them in?"Kohane said, flopping over ont be couch, "we can go to my room to wait."

He gave her a mock salute. "Aye aye, captain!"

 

"It's been a while, shouldn't the cupcakes be done by now?"

"Yeah, probably..."

"Rui, did you set the timer?"

"..."

"RUI?!"

Surprise! The cupcakes were mostly okay in the end, albeit slightly burnt.

"These are actually pretty good!" Saki declared.

"Good job, us!"

"Please just remember to set the timer next time, Rui."
