"Rui, stop jiggling your leg, you're making the table shake."
"Sorry!" He grinned. "But I can't believe you somehow got An to invite her whole friend group over for a special show. And I can't believe Tsukasa is in her friend group!"
Mizuki laughed. "Yeah, me neither. They all met online, apparently."
"Guys!" Saki peeked in from outside the door. "You getting ready? I think they'll be arriving soon."
"Oh-"
"Uh."
"...guys."
Kohane drew her sword. "And who might you two be?"
"Just humble travellers, ma'am," Saki said, lowering herself into a curtsy. "We heard of the dark magic plaguing the city and we wanted to see what was happening."
"Well," Kohane scoffed, "you best be on your way, then. Not unless you have what it takes to stop it."
Rui raised his head. "Then perhaps I may be of assistance here."
"You! You're the one causing this, aren't you?!"
"And so what if I am? Why do you care so much about these random villagers?"
"You don't have to be tormenting everyone for such small reasons."
"Small? Do you have any idea what they've done to my kind-?"
The conversation cut off with another explosion of colored smoke.
"You've lost. Give it up."
"No..! Not...against your..."
"...Alaric, we shouldn't kill her."
"Whyever not? She's been causing this village trouble for years now."
"Because they were cruel to her first. At least let the two sort something out, maybe? We could speak in her defense."
"...you were always quite the kind one, Odette."
When the show ended, there was a huge (if you could call it that with only four people, anwyay) round of applause for the troupe as they all did their final bows.
"WOOOO!!" An cheered. "That was so good, you guys!"
Shizuku nodded vigorously, while Mafuyu only gave a slight nod of the head and a small smile.
"I agree!" Tsukasa said, beaming, "it almost makes me miss doing theater more often, ehe..."
"Hm?
"Nothing."
Mizuki gave them more dramatic bows. "Thank you, thank you all for seeing us!"
Rui chuckled. "Glad to know you all liked it."
