From the moment your mother told you a story about wild cats who lived in the forest and ate mice and rabbits, you wanted to join them. You spent your entire kithood dreaming of the day you would be accepted into their world and learn their ways of life. You would always pretend a big leaf of a stick was your enemy, and you would tackle it and bite it, letting it know that it had made a mistake trespassing on your territory. You lived your earliest years only dreaming of the taste of mice and the smell of the wild forest, wondering when and if you would ever get the chance to find them. Then, one peaceful autumn morning, your dream finally came true.

You were stalking through the dense undergrowth, doing your best to not let the bell on your (f/C) collar jingle. You were watching a plump squirrel nibble on a beech nut several tail-lengths in front of you, blissfully ignorant to your slowly approaching presence. A bird called from somewhere high above, and the squirrel dropped it's nut and began anxiously looking around for any signs of danger. You stiffened, unsheathing your claws. If you didn't act now, it would see you. Mouth watering in anticipation, you sprang forward, landing right on top of the furry brown creature and pinning it under your claws. "Gotcha!" You yowled triumphantly, tightening your grip as the squirrel squealed and writhed beneath your paw. You leaned down and bit into it's neck, waiting for it's squeals to fall silent before raising your head and purring proudly. You turned and began trotting back the way you had come, but before you could get very far, a twig snapped from the forest next to you, and before you could react, there was a flash of gray fur and the next thing you knew, you were pinned to the ground.

"Trespasser!" A she-cat's voice growled in a taunting way. "You're stealing our prey!" You groaned, opening your eyes to glare at your attacker. It was a young she-cat about your age with sleek gray fur and vibrant blue eyes that shone with excitement. That little fact infuriated you to no end.

She's not going to get any satisfaction from me! With a growl, you vaulted your hind paws into her belly and sent her tumbling backwards. Springing back to your paws, you faced your attacker with your spine arched and your hackles raised. The gray she-cat leaped to her paws and sprang towards you all at once, raking her claws across your muzzle and causing you to stumble a little.

She's really strong, You thought as you reached up with a paw and wiped the blood from the scratch she had left on your face. I don't think I stand a chance here. Still, you didn't like the idea of running away from a fight. Straightening yourself up, you squared your shoulders and braced yourself to attack again, but the gray she-cat was on top of you before you could even come up with your next move.

"You can't be here!" She growled, but her voice hardly held any threat. She raised her claws to rip into your face again, and you winced and squeezed your eyes shut. This is going to hurt.

"That's enough, Cinderpaw! You've made your point!" A tom's voice split the peaceful forest air, causing several birds to take flight. The gray she-cat — whom you assumed to be Cinderpaw — looked up, then scrambled off of you. You got back to your paws in a daze, giving your pelt a firm shake. A broad-shouldered, muscular tom with a pelt the color of raging flames stepped into the small clearing, his deep green eyes traveling from Cinderpaw to you. You flinched, suddenly intimidated. He was clearly no stranger to a fight, based on the scars dotting his shoulders and chest, and the notch in his right ear.
