You could barely feel the ground underneath your paws as you hurtled downhill towards a rushing river, your heart thundering painfully in your chest. The sounds of barking and snarling were drawing closer, ringing in your ears and threatening to drown you in a flood of sheer terror. You'd heard plenty of horror stories about what happened to cats when dogs caught up with them, and you weren't interested in experiencing it for yourself.

You launched yourself forward with your hind legs just as you reached the surge of flowing water, your front paws landing on the first rock with a splash. You whirled around to see the two dogs charging towards you, their jaws hanging wide open and their eyes glittering with malicious excitement. Now panicking fully, you desperately scanned your surroundings for a quick escape. There was nothing but roaring water for what seemed like miles, and the other side of the river seemed so far away. That was when you noticed another rock jutting out of the water a few feet away from where you were standing. It had just enough room for you to land on, if you did it right.

Alright, here goes nothing!
You bunched your muscles underneath you and sprang into the air, your paws stretched out in front of you as you desperately willed your luck to not fail you. Finally, you slammed rather painfully into the jagged edge of the rock, desperately scrabbling your claws across the slick surface in an attempt to pull yourself up. Just when you got a firm grip, however, a huge wave reared up above the rock. You stared in horror and opened your jaws to scream, but water filled your mouth and rushed into your lungs instead. You were torn away from your only safety by the vicious current, sinking deeper and deeper into the blackness around you.

This is it, You thought solemnly as darkness crept into your vision and obscured the last of the visible sunlight above the surface. I just hope that (m/N) knows I loved him...
Then, the suffocating darkness pulled you into it's abyss.

While you were unconscious, you saw something that pained you to your very core. You couldn't remember much, all you knew was that an achingly familiar (F/C) tom was sitting with his back to you, and you began running towards him and shouting his name. You were just about to reach him, but the moment your paw was about to touch his shoulder, he disappeared like a cloud of smoke.

You came to with a loud gasp, sitting bolt-upright and coughing violently. What seemed like puddles and puddles of water was heaved up from your stomach and lungs, tinted all sorts of colors from the contents of your stomach. As you retched, a paw rested on your back and began to gently rub up and down. You looked over your shoulder to see a fluffy golden tabby she-cat, her amber eyes glistening with concern.

"I'm glad to see you awake." She meowed calmly, removing her paw from your back. "Most cats don't survive a fall into the river, especially in newleaf." You were still catching your breath and unable to respond, but that didn't stop you from tilting your head in confusion. This she-cat you weren't familiar with was using some strange words, and about a million different scents were dancing on your tongue.

"I'm sorry," You began once you had your wits about you again. "but what happened? Where am I? Who are you?" The strange she-cat purred with amusement, padding forward a setting a bundle of weird leaves in front of you. You blinked, now even more confused. What was going on here?
