ZILLA

The scenery is a beautiful blend of azure, mauve, and crimson shades. The warm sun is descending its position in the sky. The ocean waves are slowly starting to simmer down.

"I found you!" Aella screamed, shoving me slightly.

As we witnessed the sun setting, I giggled and waited for her to accompany me.

"You're always here. What for?" Aella queried.

"I'm not sure? It's purely that every time I'm close to the sea, I get so comfortable and secure." I answered her, "I can't put into words it either."

It's exactly the case. I have always end up coming close to the sea since my father left and traveled for decades. I do not know what it is about it that offers me such tranquility, but it makes me feel sheltered.

"Could that be down to the fact that the heavens touch the sea?" Aella wondered yet again.

As an answer, I just shrugged my shoulders.

I had the same thought—since I am the highest rank at Herst Keep Palace, I can go anywhere I choose, but I couldn't do so for some reasons. My power is derived from the heavens, so I can harness it. It is, however, not as formidable as the other Gods, such as myself. I have no idea how so. I attempted to ask my father back then, but he kept telling me that a fragment of my core was taken away, which explained why I was so feeble.

Aella has always been by my side since I was a child. She is the Herst Palace's chief and a close friend of mine. She was given the task with keeping me safe by saving me and following me around.

"I'm curious, Zilla, if you still dream about that?" Aella murmured surprisingly.

I looked at her and noticed that she was looking at me with a look of wonder on her face.

"Once in a while. Yes, I mean. I did, last night." I replied.

She was speaking to a vivid dream I'd been getting since I was a child.

Everything was in utter chaos in my dream. I hear screams and cries from individuals I don't recognize. I have even seen an image of someone being stricken by lightning within an ambient light, and such heavens seemed so infuriated that it let out deafening roars of thunder. But I have no idea who it is.

"It's a little strange, you know." Aella explained, "We have been experiencing vivid dreams."

Yes, even Aella dreams about it. When we confronted our guardians about it, they said it could just be a fever dream or our fantasies or illusions linked to the works of fiction we read all the time. But there is just something I am missing deep down.

"Hey!" Aella exclaimed, astonished.

My reflexes were just too quick to notice the katana before it managed to reach us.

"Is someone there?" Aella hissed and rushed in front of me to cover me.

"There's no point. It's no longer here." I alerted Aella.

"You are dripping with blood!" She exclaimed; her face flushed with fear.

She was right. I gazed over my right shoulder. Maybe just a katana scratch.

As I cured my wound, I remarked, "I am perfectly all right."

Absolutely, as the highest ranks of our palace and as nobles by birth, Aella and I have the power to cure our own wounds.
