"Father, why then would I consider the throne?" I wondered out loud.

It's not even that I don't want it; it's just that, becoming the highest among all the Gods comes with a lot of roles and responsibilities, and I'm worried I won't be capable of fulfilling it.

"Armaros has declared a revolt against the heavenly kingdom, awakened demonic power, and aims to attack and kill us sooner or later." Father replied.

I raised my brow, perplexed by what he had said. I honestly cannot believe it—Armaros is a very kind and compassionate God. How can he do something like that?

"But I know Armaros, father. We have been friends for a long time, and I know he would not do that. There must have been something wrong." I said stiffly as I scoffed.

But my father only stared at me and took a deep breath deeply.

"You know, Deidamia, situations and even individuals always keep changing. A few are content with how much they have, and some aren't, and that's what steers them to do the most unbelievable things." My father responded.

I was speechless as I stopped and looked at him.

"I'll find him and take him back here." I earnestly said.

My father called my name as I was about to leave.

"It's too dangerous, Deidamia; Armaros isn't the Armaros you know anymore; he changed." My father warned me.

I felt pain from what he just said somewhere in my soul. How can they make a judgement about him without perhaps trying to understand where he's trying to come from?

"Perhaps you don't understand him, father, but I do." I explained.

I'm not going to give up on a friend who has stayed with me for countless years. I don't want to be like them, who make judgements on others without even taking the time to understand them.

"I'm sorry, father, but I have to see him; I'll be back quickly." I promised.

I drew my hand away from him as I went away to Armaros. I still could notice his god's power, which is why I was able to hunt him down.

"Armaros." I said to him.

He grinned as he turned around and looked at me.

And yet, as my father described, he has changed. His clothes were all black, his eyes have been pitching black, and he had a menacing glare.

"At long last, you've come to me." He said as he approached me.

I have been fighting away my tears as I stared at him. What I'm seeing is unimaginable, and it's blowing my mind. What happened to my good friend Armaros? Who is standing in front of me?

"What ended up happening to you?" I asked, almost in low voices.

"Nothing, this is still me, the Armaros, you know." He chuckled.

I'm not sure why, but that smiling face makes me shudder in worries.

"Why did you want to do this?" I asked as I broke down in tears.

When he saw me shedding tears, his smile faded.

"If I won't do something, I'll become a sad little man and face death, and I wouldn't want that to happen." Armaros explained.

"That's just not you." I spoke as I shook my head at him.

"What are you trying to say? This is still me Deidamia." He scoffed.
