book two: Ariel's Time

James Pov

I woke up to Alpha Jeff looking down over me, remembering what happened I pushed him out of the way and scrambled to my feet. "Where is she?" I asked scanning the room to see her entire family sitting, waiting not worried or moving to go after her.

"You need to slow down she hit you with a strong sleeping spell you have been out for 4 hrs. and..."

"4 HOURS!" I growled. what the hell. Why is she still gone? Fucking hell i told her not to go. Why the hell didn't she listens to me? Why would she risk herself, her fucking life?

"You need to let her make her own decisions. She knows more about this stuff then we do James." Ryan my wolf commented.

"Does she? Does she really, she could get herself killed and where would I be if she dies huh? I get it we are new to this wizard world, but it doesn't matter because she is my mate, and I would like if she cared or at least listened to my concerns on her safety!" I snapped shutting him out.

"Look Ariel knows how to do the spell it's an easy protection spell nothing can happen to her especially with Troy by her side helping her with it." Her uncle Mike added.

I looked at him wondering how do they know what is going on with her being over to god knows where and they are here just waiting. "Do you not care, I get it its a simple protection spell but she wasted a lot of energy when she was fighting off that monster when he took over her body. Did you not see what I saw, with how weak she was when doing that last chant before fainting? And if I remember correctly all of you said that spell should have KILLED her, a forbidden spell. Yet you are ok with her going off doing more are you INSANE!"

"Dont you dare suggest we dont care about her well being! She is my DAUGHTER, all I do is worry about that child safety. But I cant stop her from making a decision that is clearly her choice. You dont know my children well ESPECIALLY ARIEL! That girl puts everyone's life above her own even if it meant destroying her mate in the process! Your new to this and you just found out about her being your mate so you don't know anything about her! My Daughter is Stubborn, Hardheaded, Lovable, Smart, And well worth fighting for. You have the best of the best. But you can not make her decisions for her even if it kills you in the process. She wont listen, and maybe down the road you will be able to get her to listen, to get her to understand the danger shes putting herself in; but in the meantime sit down, shut up, and wait!"

*Three hours later

We were all still waiting around in Mias home hoping they are ok and will return soon. Its been going on 8 hrs since we last saw them and Mia reassured me time over there is a little different from here. it can be two hrs for them and six for us, which is just beyond crazy. I hope soon I could understand all of this a little more better and maybe I could help next time instead of feeling beyond useless. I hate that Ariels only logical thing to do was to knock me out. I wish she took me with her at least, maybe I shouldn't have tried stopping her. Her mother is right, she has to decide on her own. Only she knows the limits of her magic, and in the mean time I have to respect that.

"Guys its happening!" Ariana yelled running into the room with her necklace glowing with four people emerging from it. Ariel, Troy and her grandparents all stood in front of me and I sighed in relief. Shes ok, She honestly ok.

"What happened, how did he breach the gates?" Mia asked hugging her children in the process.

"We dont know, he has help we do know that much but we also know his powers has grown beyond what we thought. He is strong maybe the same level as Ariel strong. Its going to be tuff this time around to end him. We can't waste any time!" Her grandfather said.

"That is why I need to train grandma, grandpa just said it we have no time to waste!" Ariel grunted to her grandparents.

"Ariel Elizabeth Pine that is enough!" Her grandmother shouted!

"What is going on mom." Mia asked. Ariel looked pissed she left her mothers arms and stormed out of the room.

"I swear that girl got her fathers stubbornness. During the spell Brad breached into the circle and once they finished, the affect he caused brought magical lightning shooting down from every direction. I was in the middle of the crossfire and Ariel was thrown from the sky and was hit by a bolt not once but twice, I was also hit feeling my magic fade with just one hit and she was hit twice. You know how stubborn that girl is despite being injured she still got up and did the barrier spell with Troy not knowing it could cause more damage to herself. l forbid her from doing magic for two weeks, I told her if she continued she would end up like Mia, her still trying to fight me I took her wand away. Shes still a little sour over the decision we made."

I can't believe she got hurt and she still wanted to continue. I need to make her understand that if she continues down this path she will be dead by the end of it. Her deciding to listen to me is a different story.

"Can she still train in combat?" I found myself asking.

"Yes that should be fine, it will help her with her fighting skills so she wouldn't have to worry about just her magic to protect her." Her grandfather said.

I nodded and headed in the direction she stormed off to.
