book two: Ariel's Time

chapter 9

Ariel Pov

I was laying down in the hammock out back on the porch just staring at the stars trying to understand my grandparents methods in all of this. I get why I have to rest, and I understand their concerns but there is no room for that. I cant just sit and study spells and not be able to practice them. And the woman took my wand. My fucking wand, I can still do small magic with my hands but what use will that be? I cant us it for the powerful spells. "UGH." I screamed getting up throwing a rock at a tree. 

"Dang what did that tree do to you?" I heard James from behind me.

"Got in the way of my rage." I turned to look at him standing in the door way with his hands in his pocket just studying me. "If you are here to yell at me for knocking you out well your hrs late I already got a ear full from my wolf." I turned back around to get back in the hammock closing my eyes. Just go away and leave me alone the last thing I need is your charms and bond to get me to calm down.

"Ariel, you do realize you could have gotten yourself killed! You are not alone in this anymore I told you I was with you and I will help you. but I will not stand by and watch you go on a suicide  mission."

I kept my eyes closed hoping me ignoring him will get him to leave, I've already had enough lectures for the day.

I felt arms grabbing me pulling me off the hammock to stand and by the sparks tingling up my body I knew exactly who it was.

"This is serious Ariel! You are going to get yourself killed, listen to me when I say this; with you dead how will anyone win this? You said it yourself plenty of times you are the most powerful in your family and the only one that can put an end to this. How do you expect to do that from the grave Ariel?"

I tried to shake his grip off of me but he was stronger then me "Let me go!" I hissed at him. He didn't budge and he stood his ground. "You don't know anything Alpha! I cant show any sign of weakness, or give any one hints that I am injured. We were raised to be the strongest of the strong  nothing more nothing less. you cant possible understand what I went through, or why I am the way I am." I looked away trying not to put him to sleep again so I can escape. 

"I was raised by an alpha Ariel, I have a feeling I know what you went through. To never show your emotions, to always stay sharp, to be stronger and better then any other alpha. So don't talk to me and say I don't understand cause I do!"

"Then stand there and tell me you wouldn't risk your life for your pack or loved ones? Tell me you wouldn't do the same thing as I am!" 

I stared into his eyes challenging him to answer but he stayed quiet just thinking on answering. We both know I am right, he would do the exact same thing just like uncle Jeff would. "What is the difference between me and you?" I asked!

"Your right I would risk my life for my people, but the difference between me and you is I don't go looking for trouble. If I know its only me in danger then hell I will leave and come up with a different plan not continue with the same and get myself killed. You don't understand do you? YOU ARE THE ONE HE WANTS! And you are falling into each and everyone of his traps. He is draining you day by day trying to get you weak enough so he can attack. SO HE CAN WIN ARIEL! You talk about being the chosen one daughter but yet your acting reckless in everything you do. With no plan or set skills just winging your every step.  You need to be alive to be able to fulfill your destiny, to be able to protect your family and pack, they need you and they know it but its time you understood the situation yourself. Its not just about me, myself, and I! You have a whole family standing behind you, waiting to fight along side you. Don't be stupid and reckless, let them join you. Let them help you end this. The power you need to succeed is the power in family. The power of love, try that for a change!"
