Trying to Adapt

The next couple days consisted of Hitoshi and I trying to figure shit out. We ended up talking to Eijiro and telling him about everything aswell. Saying he was excited was understatement of the fucking year. He's already gone out and started buying shit to baby-proof our dorm and shit. I don't quite know how I feel about it.
Unfortunately for me today was a Friday, meaning I got to go in and deal with work. Today was a really shitty nausea day aswell which only made it that much better. I felt like every other second I was going to need to run to the bathroom and puke my brains out. I highly doubt that the smell of caffeine and dealing with annoying people were going to help at all.
Hitoshi had attempted to talk me into calling out sick but I couldn't afford to do that right now, especially since I'll probably end up needing those sick days later on. As much as it pained me to do so when my alarm telling me it was time to leave went off I forced myself off the couch, leaving behind the comforting feeling of Hitoshi messing with my hair. Before leaving I leaned over and connected our lips, making the kiss last for as long as possible before needing to actually leave before I'd end up being late.
The second I walked through the shop's doors I already wanted to puke. I covered my mouth and swallowed before continuing to the back, clocking in and throwing on my uniform before heading to the front. Mina was already waiting for me, ushuring me to take over the register while she went back to make the orders.
I could already tell that I was slower than usual 10 minutes into my shift. Normally by now I'd have the line completely rung up and be in the back helping Mina with the drinks. Instead I was barely through the line, doing everything I could not to let my nausea get the best of me.
A couple hours in and I think it was becoming aparent to Mina just how off I actually was. This was proven to me by her walking up to me when we didn't have customers and placing her hand on my forehead. "Hmm, you don't seem to be running a fever." She mumbled to herself.
"Mina, what the hell are you doing?" I asked, though I already knew the answer.
"There's something wrong with you. You're a lot slower than usual and you look like you're gonna puke at any second. Do you need to go home or something?"
"No, I'm fine. I'm just having an off day." I replied, going back to the register when I heard the bell go off. "What can I get you?" I asked, never looking up at the customer.
"My regular please." The customer replied.
I sighed, "Look, just because you think you're important or whatever doesn't mean I'll remember your fucking order. You-" At this I finally looked up, Hitoshi looking back at me with an amused look, "You're a dick."
Hitoshi laughed, leaning over and kissing my cheek before ruffling my hair, "Sorry Kat, just wanted to see how long it was going to take for you to notice." He replied.
"You know, I'm kind of relieved you weren't a normal customer, I probably would've gotten into deep shit if you were." I said, rubbing the back of my neck.
"Lucky you then. How're you feeling? I know you left in a kind of shitty mood."
"My mood has not changed if that wasn't obvious, I feel like I was hit by a train." I complained, looking at him with tired eyes, "Did you want a coffee? I can go make it real quick then take a break to talk a little more."
"Yeah, you know what I like." Hitoshi said, handing me cash for his drink before going to take one of the booths.
After ringing him up I went to the back, finding Mina taking care of mobile orders. "I'm making this drink then going on break." I told her in which she just nodded in agreement.
As I was finishing Hitoshi's drink I heard somebody come into the shop. I looked at Mina who was still finishing up mobile orders and went out to take the order, deeming this the last thing I did before break. After taking the order I gave the ticket to Mina, finishing what was left of Hitoshi's drink before bringing it out to him.
I threw my work apron off as I sat across from Hitoshi, letting out a deep sigh before resting my head on the table. I felt Hitoshi place a hand on my head, gently messing with my hair. I could feel the tension start leaving my body simply because of Hitoshi's touch. "I'm so tired, I want to go home."
"I know Kat. You only have a couple more hours of your shift, you're almost done." Hitoshi assured me. It may not seem like a lot but it was the smallest things like that that gave me the slightest bit of motivation to get through shit. That's the kind of impact this man has on me.
When Mina yelled at me that my break was over I reluctantly got up, looking back at Hitoshi before I started walking to the back. As I was about to walk through the door I felt someone grab my wrist. quickly pulling me into a hug. "I'm offended that you tried to leave without saying goodbye." Hitoshi said.
I smiled, resting my forehead against his chest and putting my arms around him. "Sorry, thank you for coming to check in on me, I appreciate it."
"Of course Kat, I said I'd be here for you, didn't I?"
I couldn't help but laugh, "Idiot, I love you." I said, quickly realising what I just said.
"You love me huh? What'd I do to earn the honor?" I quickly pulled away from him, my face completely flustered. Histoshi noticed me start mumbling and smiled, pulling me in for a kiss, "Relax alright? I'm just messing with you. I love you too Katsuki, how can I not?" Hitoshi said, kissing me one last time before walking off.
I tried to compose myself a little bit before finally walking to the back, though I knew my face was probably still red. Mina laughed when she saw me, "Aw, did your boyfriend embarass you?"
"Sh-Shut it. Just let me work in peace." I snapped back, already missing Hitoshi and just ready to go back home to him.
