Dear, Diary
I've never felt so invisible in my life.
It's like I'm dreaming.
Mummy is having the time of her life just watching my boss speak without a single sign of shame and Elvis looks like he's enjoying every single attention he's getting from my mum—maybe not so much from Shantel anyway because that one just keeps embarrassing herself by the minute, laughing hysterically at the most mundane thing spitted out by Elvis.
"Shanikoko, won't you sit down you've been standing there for a while now." I heard mum say and I wanted the ground to swallow me so bad. What the hell was Shanikoko—I mean it was funny when she said it while persuading me to take drugs or when she needed me to help with her phone or so, but here?! In the presence of my boss? Damn!
I threw her a warning glare and told her I was good.
"You really don't have to stand like a bodyguard behind me," Elvis said and everyone turned to Shantel who had begun to shake with laughter as usual. God, can someone spell: EMBARRASSING?
Damn!
"I'm very good sir...what time is your call time?"
"Which one is your own? Are you the director?" Mum attacked me and I watched Elvis chuckle which eventually got her chuckling too.
"I'm the personal assistant...ma. It's part of my job description too—,"
"Aunty rest biko." Shantel cut me off and for the first time, Elvis laughed genuinely at her own words in return. She looked so damn proud.
"Seriously though, you need to chill—I mean, feel at home!" Elvis said and my entire family members threw their heads back laughing hysterically before they finally chorused the words "FEEL AT HOME!!" which only enabled them to laugh the more.
Bebi, I wanted to punch the wall so badly but I only gave a mortified smile instead before excusing myself.
Damn! I love my family but I hate them sometimes!
