Dear, Diary

"You're so lucky," was the first thing Elvis said to me after Aremo shut the door behind him and slid into the driver's seat.

"I don't understand...sir," I responded in complete confusion as my mind began to race with different thoughts—I hoped my mother or Shantel hadn't sold me out completely to the complete stranger.

"You have a sibling and a mum that genuinely loves and care for you," we hadn't gone too far, so I stretched my head out and groaned as I found my mother and sister waving at our vehicle like I wasn't going to be back home for dinner.

"Oh..."

"Don't be like that," he turned to look at me with a foreign seriousness in his tone of voice and facial expression—I'm just there like, 'Uh...okay, where is this coming from?'

"Like how sir?"

"Like, ungrateful," he looked at me for another second with seriousness in his eyes before relaxing back into the car seat. "You'll never understand what it means to have an abnormal family like the one I'm cursed with."

Uh...okay...are we that cool now?... his he oversharing now? And most importantly, how am I supposed to respond?

"I think people will kill to have the kind of life you so illy speak about," I chuckled but with a hint of seriousness and I watched him turn to look at me for a second and then open his mouth to speak but finally resulted to taking a deep breath.

"You'll never understand, Shaniqua, you just will never understand so let's forget about this and talk about something more productive—did you get the response mail from Yvonne concerning the makeup brand?"

I nodded my head and told him I did and we spoke about more business-related issues until we got to the location and he threw me a look before stepping out of the car.

'Weird' I thought to myself before following suit.
