Pat's P.O.V:

Ink calls me to let me know that she will be at this bar that's theme is a fantasy tavern, so I just agree to meet her there to talk more. We both agreed that we will never tell Paa about this, so that we don't both die by her hands.

From the outside the so called tavern looks modest, clean and snug. Softwood and tree trunks make up most of the building's outer structure.

It's impossible to see through the stained glass windows, but the inviting music from within can be felt outside.

As I enter the tavern through the thick, wooden door, I'm welcomed by a feeling of comfort and overall happiness.

The bartender is a little preoccupied, but still manages to welcome me with a smile.

It's as charming inside as it is on the outside. Marble pillars support the upper floor and the light fixtures attached to them. The walls are full of paintings, judging by the style they're all done by 1 person, perhaps Ink painted them, since she works here and she loves to paint as her hobby.

The tavern itself is packed. Locals seem to be the primary clientele here, which could be seen as the best sign I can get. Several long tables are occupied by, what seems to be one large group of people. The other, smaller tables are also occupied by people who seem to be enjoying themselves a lot, perhaps too much, if such a thing is possible. Even most of the stools at the bar are occupied, though nobody seems to mind more company.

I did hear rumors about this tavern, supposedly it's famous for something, but I can't remember what for. Though judging by the angelic voice who just started singing, it must be famous for this singer. I manage to find a seat and prepare for what will undoubtedly be an eventful night for me.

I turn to look at the singer who has black, wavy hair that  is parted to the side. He has a white undershirt, and a leather jacket. I listen as he sings, "step inside this place where people's laughing, they all show love but inside feeling nothing..."

I see Ink coming down from the stairs, and I wave at her to come sit down next to me.

"This place is really packed Ink!"

She throws her head back while laughing, "I know! We can't help it that we have the best bartenders, and make great food! We also have him, the one and only Jeff Satur! Good vibes only! What has got you down though?"

She places a purple drink in front of me that looks like it has fog coming out of it, but I still drink it nonetheless. I take a deep breath in, and tell her absolutely everything that has been going on.

"I just can't Ink. I can't.." I sigh and grab my hair with my hands in frustration as I put my head down onto the wooden table. Ink pats my head reassuringly.

I listen to the song a bit more to try and get lost in it, "wish you were not one of this parody, but you are nothing but the comedy"

"I know. Trust me, I know what it's like to be trying to give up on your feelings just because you don't see a happy ending in sight. Then they do something that simple that sucks up your whole plan of giving up!"

I look up at her and ask, "Is that what Paa did to you? She made you think she wasn't into you, and then BAM! She did something to make you think she's into you? But then she plays the same game all over again?"

She fiddles with her fingers that look like they have been recently manicured. "Well.. not exactly.. but kind of. You seem to have it way harder than I did!" I slump my head back down on the table.

"Do you want me to give it to you straight?" She asks me.

"Yeah, I wanted to get your thoughts on this whole situation anyway."

"I need you to believe me, alright?" She gives me a look that tells me that she will not be bullshitting me.

"Alright, I promise."

"He likes- no, he is in love with you."

My brain just stops working for a couple of minutes. I am sure that I am making a stupid face right now, but I don't care. She looks at me carefully analyzing about what I am thinking, as if trying to decide whether she should continue or not.

"He is in love with you, Pat. I can tell by the way he has been staring daggers at anyone that gets close to you."

As I am about to deny what she said she pushes one of her fingers to my lips to silence me.

"I know that he might act like he doesn't give a rat's ass about you, but he does! He looks at you like you are his world, like he can't breathe if he's not with you. He is only ever his true self when he is around you. It's like- like he takes off this mask that he always has on around other people, but with you- with you, it's different. He allows himself to take off his mask in front of you. I don't think you noticed, but lately he has been trying to be with you more often. He is not a good actor, well at least he doesn't fool me.

I chug the rest of the purple drink . "I'm so.."

"Can't wait for that last punch line, step inside the one strangest opera.."

That's right, I am waiting for her to finish this off as a joke. I feel like this is one of those hidden- prank camera shows.

I look at her and I can tell that she is not joking around with me.

"What should I do then? After I have been longing after him for this long, getting my heart trampled on over and over again! And what? Just when I try going out with others, he just all of a sudden develops feelings for me? That.." I take in a deep breath to calm myself.

"That just doesn't sit right with me! This to me seems like a little boy getting upset over having his favorite toy taken away. I bet you anything that he will get over this when he gets a new lover. He is probably just bored right now... I'm leaving."

I get up with all of my things, and pay at the bar then I make my way to leave.

She calls my name behind me, and makes me turn to look at her.

"He - he doesn't think of you that way, and I know that right now you are angry, and confused because this seems very sudden. Which it is, but he truly loves you... I hope that one day he can make you realize that."
