BLARING music and loud chatterfilled North's ears, causing her to cover them with her hands as she walked around the pool in search of the towels.
It was the day after North's play date in the undercity. It was her birthday.
As she had told Vi, her parents were throwing her a party at the inside pool they own in the mansion.
It was already midnight when North decided to get out of the pool. She had played in the water, received her presents, and eaten her cake.
Her and Caitlyn had been talking about North's idea to sneak Vi into their school's prom while swimming, but with the music playing, the girls decided to briefly head inside to discuss it further.
Caitlyn followed behind North as she traveled, pushing her dripping hair out of her face.
"Here." North said as she picked up two towels from an empty chair, handing one to Caitlyn.
"Thank you." Caitlyn responded gratefully before squeezing the water out of her hair with her towel.
Both girls dried themselves off before wrapping the towels around themselves and heading into the mansion's corridor.
"What were you saying?" North asked.
"Maybe you could borrow a ticket from someone. The whole class got tickets, but I know for a fact not everyone is going. Ask someone for their ticket and give it to Vi." Caitlyn suggested.
North thought about the idea. The whole class received tickets last week for prom. Who did she know who wasn't going to go?
Then, it clicked.
"I know someone." North said.
"Who?" Caitlyn asked.
"That one pink-haired girl in our class, Alis. I heard her say her ex-girlfriend asked her out to prom and she agreed, but only so she could purposefully stand her up." North explained.
"Oh. Wow." Caitlyn muttered, furrowing her brows.
"Right." North said casually. "I'll talk to her about it and see if she let's me use her ticket."
"All right. Problem solved." Caitlyn said, smiling eagerly.
Then, she softly gasped. "Will I get to meet Vi?" She asked hopefully.
"I suppose. Just... don't be weird about it or anything. Not that you're weird, you're lovely. But... just don't go telling her what I tell you." North told her.
Caitlyn feigned offense before shaking her head. "I won't." She assured.
"Good." North nodded. "You can go back out there if you want." She said before she started walking again.
