《 he knows 》
NORTH STARED AT THE GROUND as she walked, her hair shielding half of her vision. She made the trek with her hands in the pockets of her pants and not one thought behind her eyes.
Her, Vi, and Caitlyn had set off to go to Piltover and talk to the Council, Ekko accompanying them so that he could personally give Jayce back the hextech gem, just as he requested.
The four walked through a tunnel filled with bright green glowing insects that flew all around the air.
"What are they?" Caitlyn asked curiously.
"We call them firelights. Never seen so many though." Vi remarked.
North adverted her gaze and looked up at all the flying little firelights, astonishment filling her gaze as the green light reflected off her pupils.
The group of four eventually made it to the bridge, silence hanging in the air.
At some point, Vi eventually stopped walking, and at the sound of her footsteps halting, the other three looked back at her.
"Vi?" North called out.
"I can't leave her again." Vi said.
The other three instantly knew what she meant and that she was refusing to go with them.
"You can't change her." Ekko argued in an attempt to get Vi to keep going.
"I have to try." Vi retorted.
"I'll go back with you." North volunteered.
"No." Vi refused immediately.
"Vi." North said.
"I need you to go with them, where it's safe." Vi urged, North furrowing her brows as she stepped closer to the pink-haired girl.
"I'm not letting you do this by yourself." She argued.
"I don't need you to come with me. I can do this on my own. All I'm going to do is talk to my sister. Just... go with them, North. Please." Vi told her, a pleading look in her eyes.
North stared at her for a moment, tensing her lips as she struggled with thinking of what to say.
It didn't feel right to let Vi walk away, and North was partially convinced it was because of the attachment she had grown to Vi that had resurfaced when they reunited.
She could do anything to stop her from leaving back then, but now that she had her back and could stop her, she didn't want to let her go.
At the same time, North didn't want to argue with Vi. It was what Vi wanted and she didn't want to argue with Vi's wants.
