FLASHBACK...

NORTH SOFTLY GRUNTED as she jumped onto another roof, letting out a sigh before looking around.

The shiny stars up above illuminated the dark night sky, an untouchable beauty that was hardly ever seen.

And as the townsfolk of Piltover slept in their fluffy, comfortable beds, North hopped over the roofs of their homes in secret.

Her boots clicked against the blue metal of the building's top as she stepped back, then she jumped onto the next building.

Afterward, North dusted off her shirt, then her pants.

Sometimes, her and Vi would meet each other half way before going to her house, given that North felt bad for Vi having to make such a far away travel on her own. Vi was reluctant, but she agreed to the compromise.

Vi showed North how to travel by roof once before when North walked her home for the first time. But now that North was alone, she found herself struggling a lot.

As North walked closer to the edge of the building, someone abruptly whisper-shouted 'boo' in her ear and grabbed her shoulder, North gasping in fright as she stumbled to the side.

There, she saw Vi with a stupid grin on her lips, laughing at her.

North shut her eyes tightly, closing her hands into fists. "You...! Damn it, will you stop that?" She grumbled.

"You're too easy to scare." Vi teased, walking up to North.

North scoffed and rolled her eyes, placing her hand on her chest, over her heart.

"Okay, okay... Wait, hold still." Vi said with furrowed brows before she stepped closer to North, who widened her eyes a bit. Vi examined North's face, placing a hand over her cheek and brushing her thumb over a scratch on North's skin.

North pressed her lips together as Vi frowned in concern.

"Shortcake... you're bleeding. What happened to you?" She asked North, who felt a wave of fluster washing over her at the nickname she was given.
