Rosie checked over everything on the stove, happy to see it coming along well. She made Declan's favorite meal and picked up his favorite beer, hoping he could at least end the day on a good note.

She could tell through their texts all day that he was anxious. He started his job with Cody's company today and Rosie could see how nervous he was. Cooking was something small that she knew would pick his mood up no matter what.

"Bug?"

Rosie perked up at Declan's voice and heard the door closing behind him.

"Hey it smells great in here," he smiled widely as he walked up to her and pecked her lips.

Rosie couldn't lie, she was surprised at his mood, but it only assured her he was able to tackle the stress of the day.

"How was work? Did you see Cody at all?"

Declan shook his head, "apparently he's too busy to pop into the office," he chuckled quietly, "but it was good, everyone is nice and signs so I'm happy I can practice more."

"Oh, I'm sorry you didn't see him," Rosie's face fell slightly, hoping Cody would be able to calm him a bit because he was one person he knew there, "that's great you had a good day though."

"Don't get me wrong I'm exceptionally intimidated but I get to learn and grow there," Declan wrapped his arms around her and tucked his head into her neck, "And Cody runs two multi-million dollar companies. I don't blame him for not being able to see me," laughed.

Rosie hummed, for a second focusing on him in her arms, "well then we get to end the day even better than how it started," she smiled against him.

"I can already smell what it is," the Irish lad kissed her just under her jaw before grinning down at her, "thank you love, it means a lot."

Rosie stood on her toes to connect their lips, her eyes crinkling as she felt him smiling too, "got your favorite beer too," she mumbled against him.

"This..." Declan pulled away ever so slightly, "is what love is," he laughed softly.

"Just a small bit of it, but yeah," the green eyed girl winked at him before looking back to the stove.

The dark haired lad hummed, his smile never leaving as he reached into the fridge for a beer, "don't let me have too many of these, I need to do homework."

"Me too," Rosie huffed, "I can't believe you've turned me into someone who doesn't want to do homework," she slightly teased him.

"You and me both," Declan smiled, never thinking a day would come where he didn't want to focus on work.

"But we can finish quickly and maybe have time to do a few of our favorite things."

The older lad stilled for a second, his cheeks going red but his girlfriend was sweetly grinning at him. Now he had a real incentive to finish quickly.

Rosie got plates down for them and she couldn't hide her fond eyeroll as her boyfriend was almost bouncing where he was. She loved how excited he was and only hoped what she made tasted close to what he loved.

Her boyfriend is a meat and potato kind of man, so Rosie made his favorite steak and cheesy mash. Rosie also made broccoli for herself and at the sight Declan wrinkled his nose, that being a clear no for him.

"If you want there's another steak, wasn't sure how much you would want," she said as they took seats at the dining table.

"Uhm I should be good with one," Declan shrugged, "my appetite has been pretty low the past couple of days."
