Rosie glanced up from her book, letting out a small breath as she still didn't see Declan come into the library. She figured he must be running behind from his last class but it was a bit embarrassing the green eyed girl always got impatient to see him.

When the door finally did open though Rosie's head shot up but had to nearly hold back a groan as she saw some random guy walk in.

She looked back down to the pages of her textbook, letting her eyes wander down as she started to read again. But Rosie could only get so far before a chair was pulled back at the small table she was sitting at.

The 18 year old furrowed her eyebrows at the boy, wanting to tell him that she was waiting for someone but found her pulse picking up, unable to say anything at the way his eyes were trained on her.

"Hey," he whispered as he smiled at her.

Rosie pressed her lips together, not even giving him the slightest attention before she started packing up her books.

"Do you have to go?" he asked.

"Uhm yeah," Rosie said quietly not wanting to seem to be rushing to get out of there but she's sure it was obvious.

There was something that didn't sit right with her about him, and she learned early in high school to always trust her gut. The way he was looking at her she didn't like and it reminded her too much of the guys she used to know.

"Well here, before you go let me get your number," he said, quickly reaching for his pocket and pulling his phone out.

Rosie shook her head, "no, I'm good," she picked up her bag and pushed her chair back.

Just as she was about to walk away though he stood up too.

"C'mon it's just a phone number," he whispered.

"I don't just give my phone number out," Rosie muttered as she stepped past him.

"Wait," he reached for her hand.

Rosie was sure she went still, her mind quickly racing and heart pounding as she felt him.

"I can give you mine then and-"

"Back off."

Rosie couldn't say she's ever been so relieved to see Declan, even if he looked close to furious as he shoved his hand off her.

"What the hell dude, relax," the guy furrowed his eyebrows at him, "we're just talking about phone numbers."

"Well clearly she doesn't want yours," Declan muttered angrily, his face going stone cold as he pulled Rosie behind him.

"Yeah, and she wants yours, right?" he scoffed.

"Don't," Rosie squared her eyes at him just as Declan was about to say something back, "he's more of a man than you'll ever be."

The guy's face went hard at the insult, looking like he was about to raise his voice despite the library being silent as he took a step closer.

"I swear to God mate if you take another step you and I are gonna have serious problems," Declan said lowly as he put his hand up to stop him, "she's me girlfriend, so sit your arse down and leave her alone."

The guy looked between the two glaring at him but it only took the Irish lad a second before he took Rosie's hand and carefully led her out of the library.

"Are you alright?" Declan asked nervously as soon as the doors were closed behind them, "I'm sorry I was late, I was talking to me professor and-"

"Dec, it's okay," Rosie said softly before letting out a deep breath and trying to calm down, "it's not your fault," she said, hating to see him get worked up.
