"Dad!" Rosie yelled as she walked into her childhood home.
She couldn't get past the foyer though before she heard two loud squeals followed by her father's laughter.
"I'm gonna get ya!" Louis said through a wide smile as he chased the two toddlers who hid behind Rosie.
"Gandpa Lou no!" Ben shrieked as he giggled to himself and wrapped his arms around his aunt's leg.
"Gandpa you be good!" Amelia pointed a little finger at him.
Louis pulled a shocked face as he put his hand over his chest, "me? Be good? Never love," he said before scooping her up and giving the 2 year old a sloppy kiss on her cheek.
Rosie rolled her eyes fondly as she watched her dad and picked up Ben. She was more than happy the toddler was quick to wrap his arms around her and rest his head on her shoulder.
"How's the first day going sweetheart?" Louis smiled at the 18 year old as he adjusted Amelia on his hip.
"Good," Rosie shrugged, "you know how the first day goes, just reading the syllabus and everything."
"Yeah, but this is uni, so it's good to pay attention, especially with your classes," Louis led her into the kitchen.
Rosie hummed, deciding to study bio-medical engineering and it definitely isn't the easiest of subjects, but she was ready and excited for it.
"Are you settled into your new place and everything?" Louis asked, putting Amelia down so he could get juice out for the two.
"Yeah, I am. And I honestly can't thank you and pop enough for everything," Rosie bit her lip.
Louis offered her a soft smile, "it's no problem sweetheart, we know how terribly you wanted to get out of here," he said jokingly.
"Dad c'mon," Rosie groaned as she placed a squirming Ben down, "it's not like I don't want to be here... There's just always people coming in and out and the twins, and Charlie, just-... I kinda want the quiet."
Louis let out a small breath as he nodded and passed the two toddlers their sippy cups before they ran off, "we get it love, especially with your degree we want you to have space to study and focus," he said gently, "your pop and I just get worried that you'll be lonely."
Rosie's eyes shifted to the floor as she shrugged, "I dunno, right now it's hard cause I don't really know anyone, but I'm sure that'll change."
"Well you know to come over whenever," Louis said seriously, "I moved my practices to late afternoon so I could watch the two monsters during the day."
Rosie tried not to laugh, her father doing absolutely anything to spend as much time as possible with his grandkids, "well I plan on coming over for lunch every day and then heading to the library to get some homework done."
