"looks like you're forgetting what i said 7 years ago aren't you?"

He said in a low voice threatening him by the memories of past. Hyunbin simply gave a amused look.

"you can't do anything you have to no proof"
Admiral laughed 100% assured he won't be facing any judgements for his past since the only people who knew were either dead, or had no evidence.

"we'll see" renjun scoffed as he pushed his hand before it could even reach in the direction of the girl to which he hissed in disapproval.

"seohyun you sure about the side you choose"
he asked her daughter eyeing her with a look which only meant hate or disgust. All her life she only saw him as a person who loathed his own flesh more than anything. Too overwhelmed by his sudden presence had her hiding behind Renjun who thanks the heavens had reached in time to confront instead of her.
Taking a deep breath she replied

"i am as sure as i was the day you killed my mother"

Renjun noticed the admiral's intentions to move towards seohyun in anger prior to that he loaded his gun pointing it towards the admiral placing it on this forehead directly

"i stopped once, i will not again"

he threatened clenching his jaw as the rest of team had their hands placed Infront of their mouth in shock. It was not everyday your leader held the admiral at gun point.

"you'll regret it"

the older gritted his teeth glaring the two who did not for one second falter.

"Get lost mr park"

Renjun said for the last time cocking his gun as a form of warning to which he pushed the pile of files which sat on the table harshly leaving the place simmering in absolute anger.

"Renjun have you gone mad!?" Haechan shouted as renjun tucked the weapon back in his pocket not wanting to entertain anyone further.

"why would you point the gun towards admiral you could loose everything you ever made in your life...your career, your life!"

jaemin was right because Renjun had worked all his life to get where he stood now, a capable criminologist. More than just providing justice it gave him the sense of achievement and admiral with a single signature was able to waste his career to dust making people forget who even was.
Yet he didn't care, there were priorities which came even before his career and life.

"If i didn't stop him now Jaemin, then i would've lost something more important than my life and career"

The duties he had to fulfill and the expectations he to meet all of them were drawn to one single conclusion and for that he would die a thousand deaths.
A silence filled in the room no one dared to utter a word against him, for starters the damage has already been done and nagging him won't change the fact he did something incredibly foolish yet necessary.

"Can i talk to you for a min?" Seohyun said in a lowly whisper Behind him. Dismissing everyone to their respective works he quietly led her to a cornerm

"Renjun what if he tried to hurt-"

Bitting her lips nervously she tried explaining her concerns which Renjun assuming he knew refuted before she could even complete her sentence.

"he won't be able to touch you i assure you"

"but-"

"No buts— I made you live with me for a reason and if you want to quit now it's too late I'm afraid"

For someone who enjoyed quietness he did talk a lot, listening to him as patiently as she could, her hands gripping his shirt in frustration for he was not even hearing what she wished to convey.

"Renjun you are not understanding me! You don't know him like i do"

She slightly raised her voice at him as she pushed him to wall so he may finally shut up and hear her out.

"i know him and what he can do"

he scoffed taking it in offense that she was doubtful of his abilities to kep her safe and finish this investigation.
With a sigh she let him go aware this conversation was going nowhere unless he was able to put his ego md pride aside for even a single second.

"I wasn't there in time last time...I'm not taking any chance this time"

he told his voice softening a bit when he saw seohyun's eyes turning glossy. Her dad always came like a trigger making her remind of the past and how tainted all of it was. The feeling of helpless which often came as a reminder that all she had done to get out of his clutches was futile.

she turned her head away not wanting to break down Infront of him yet unsatisfied by the lack of reply he gripped her wrist firmly.

"Let me go"

"You're crying"

"Yeah thanks Sherlock didn't quite notice" she gave him a quick glare as he stated the obvious in most unsympathetic tone. At the end of the day he just an alliance and not a friend to whom she could sob her stories to.

"Take a day off if you want to"

he said letting go of her the rocky start from the beginning of day and her wanting to stay in made him think wether he should've simply left her asleep in his room and came to work without her. Yet all he could do for her in the moment was let her leave, which she did without saying a word.

"Hey seohyun the autopsy results- are you- where are you going?"

Chenle asked looking at her leaving the station hurriedly. Renjun sighed even though let her get a day off didn't mean he was compromising her safety and that too when admiral so graciously had paid an unwanted visit.

"Jaem I'll handle the situation I'm leaving you incharge while I'm gone"

renjun announced following after the girl.

"Is it me or they are acting weirder than usual?" Haechan asked as he twirled in his chair to give chenle an Jeno a glance to get approval.

"Agreed" jeno fist bumped hyuck knowing the two had some kind of chemistry, or past which they were unaware of.

"don't you feel like they know each other way back than we know cause of the way admiral talked?" Haechan said dragging his chair next to where Jeno sat. The rest subtly gathered around wanting to address their suspicious behaviors.
Jisung furrowed his brows and then turned to them.

"uh yeah they were in same university"

He stated as it was a common knowledge to which everyone gasped in shock. All along they knew each other?

"excuse me!?" Jeno asked shocked

"I'm not sure about which major but cap is hyun's senior two years i guess...yea" jisung informed he was their Intel in true sense and had known of this little informed from the beginning and thought everyone knew it as well. For it was obvious how they acted around each other.

"So are they pretending not to know each other...or they don't get along that well"
